I just discovered that the new skin for the Gallente Navy Cometlacks the spiffy GF - PD logo on the side. Somebody has a lot of explaining to do.
In the words of an anonymous corpmate:

Would you really cancell 13 accounts over a minor visual that you don't notice 99.9% of the time (unless you have a weird fixation with logo's). Madness.
And to clarify, I see the logo on the right side of the ship and in the trinity shot you take a pic of the left side. Some ships don't have a logo on both sides. Hence the question.

We are overlooking the fact that "Gallente Navy" does not contain the letter F, P, or D.
Maybe it's a good thing they took the GF-PD logo out.

But seriously, I want to know why the removed it. I know a whole bunch of ships got minor design overhauls, but the policeness of the comet was part of its novelty factor. Which is of course why 95% of people would try to obtain a faction frigate.

Exactly, on a ship called the Navy Comet. My unstated point was that the ship lacks GN or FN, which would be a more sensible abbreviation. Or, the ship name needs to be changed to the Police Comet.

GF-PD was a fun and flippant thing (an "Easter egg" if you will) for the devs to add to EVE.
Now that EVE is SERIOUS BUSINESSÖ, though, it only makes sense to quietly phase such stuff out.

I named my corp only due to this logo.
Not that it mattered much as the corp is only there to show the anti-macroers that I am not a macroer. But it's sad that the logo is gone - while I play Standard and still see it the guy in the next ship will probably give me an odd look if I mention it...
