Edited by: VinnyTheBull on 15/01/2008 20:01:43 Recently, I have trained the skills required for heat. Shortly after I realized the interface is lacking a very simple feature that would allow this ability to be used much more efficiently.
There is a button to press that lets you overload an entire rack. There is no button to press if you want to overload a single module. You have to waste time right clicking it and then clicking overload, and if you want to stop overloading it you have to right click it again and then click stop overloading.
Solution: Add a button exactly like the one that says overload rack but call it Overload Module and have it underneath each module. Make this button lockable so there is no excuse if you accidentally click it and then overload the module. If you pvp, you know that a single second can mean the difference between webbed and scrammed or warping to a safe spot. While right clicking a module and clicking overload then doing the same thing to turn it off may not sound like a lot of trouble, but in the middle of a battle where lag comes into play you need efficieny. Simply clicking a button to overload and stop overloading is much more efficient.

Is there a hotkey option? That green bar is kinda tiny. ---- Anything less is wasted effort |

Adding a keyboard shortcut: YES
Adding another feature to the UI with little use for 95% of the time? NO
The UI is already unwieldy, adding another button there with little or no use for most people is a very bad idea.

Actually don't close the thread, a hotkey option would be great. Thanks again for letting me know there already was a overload module button though guys the button is tiny so I never noticed it.

I think players are looking for a short cut to over heat each modules one by one.

I find that in the heat of combat (no pun intended) I often click the little green overload buttons by mistake. Then notice the heat meter rising, so switch it off... but because it lags a bit, i do it again, thus overloading again, and finding myself without any mwd cos I've burned it out...
Please CCP come up with a solution to this.
