is there a thread on about this - as I cant seem to find a correct explanation for the use of the Jump portal Generator and Covert Cyno?
Anyone? help appreciated!

You activate your jump portal and connect it to the cyno at the location. Gang mates can then right click you, and 'jump to'. However, ive not actually used the bridge yet, so this may not be entirely true.
As for covert cyno, just like a normal cyno - But less cycle time, and doesnt appear on overview. Pop it up, and walla. However, capitals cannot jump to it.

Copied and pasted from an answer I gave to a similar question:
1: Pilot A lights Covert Cyno in target system (within 4LY) 2: Black Ops pilot right-click Pilot A in gang - "Bridge to member" 3: Portal opens for approx 20 seconds 4: All gang members in suitable ships right-click on the Black Ops ship (not the Black Ops pilot in gang) and choose "Jump to member". Timing on this stage is tricky due to the short portal life, so I just tend to try as many times as I can! 5: Optional - once portal is down, Black Ops pilot can right-click Pilot A in gang and Cyno to them.

Thanks River. Since the Blackops can jump after the portal is down, does that mean it can do a normal jump to a cyno without the portal?

Yes - Their jump drive is just like a capital ship. All you need is the fuel in your bay, 71% capacitor (if you have the jump skills to 5/4/4) and a cyno in range.
