Listen guys at ccp. ive been ratting in this system 2TH-3F in Venal and gotten several named spawns btw i have been playing this game for about 5 years now and have never gotten the plesure of killing a Real officer spawn.. To get to the point of matter, I have shot and killed several Dread guristas now and sometimes they dont drop any named loot at all not even named ammo. Has the Guristas gone bankrubt and cant afford any named mudules except for crappy named ammo. how about being nice to a Weteran player and poor some more isk towards the Guristas nation and give them decent modules to play with and drop for us.

Bad luck. I randomly came across a cruiser spawn that dropped me a domi disruptor in low sec.

Is this a Tri-wagoneer crying that his space isnt the ISK fountain he hoped for? Get off it...I'd laugh hard to see a gang come around to that system you mention in the OP and bl000ow you out of the sky for whining about a lack of Faction and Officer loot...

I think the general loot drops have been seriously nerfed, it really is poor.
ps : dont tell everyone where you rat espcially npc space or youll not even find a faction spawn lol

I have to say that faction drops are sometimes stupid.
in my times in ASCN I had several faction spawns, and the best loot I got from them was a large domination shield booster...
...like wtf.
a year later I return to the area as a merc (KIA vs RISE contract) and I found out a domination cruiser spawn at the gate.
I say "wth, it's a bit isk extra" so I shoot the damn thing, and it drops a 3run large domination AC battery that I sold for 180mil.
sometimes I wonder if there's this lil' goblin that controls the faction spawns and he laughs at us.

A while ago I was ratting and warped to a belt - faction BS spawn.
Killed it, looted it, warped to next belt:
ANOTHER faction BS spawn...
next belt was empty...
fourth belt? Yep, another faction BS spawn.
No good loot ofc but it's interesting from a statistical perspective

This is how I find the best spawns.
1. Use a HAC because they are quick.
2. Set yourself as long a route as you have time for.
3. Jump into system, check every belt.
4. ONLY stop for faction/officer spawns.
The more belts you warp to, the more chances you have. If you can get on right after DT all the better.
Doing this will drastically increase your chances, but you have to get over the "isk per hour" of belt ratting.

I never rat unless for sec - just to boring but yer its about chance back in 2k6 I went to providence with U'K alliance is it? as a npc corp 0_o lols anyways was ratting with two of there guys in a belt & came across a True sansha & got a high grade slave implant / web / tag / crystal & 8mil bounty.. was only there for an hour lols took my loot ( all of it as I was 1st in the belt as they were in the second ) & back to empire I went lols.
Cant say ever got a faction ship since but then again I never looked.

The best I ever got was when I was a low-sec ratter (in a AF, not such a horrible profession really, and I got occasional solo pew-pew which made it fun) and I got a Dark Blood spawn which dropped a POS tower BPC which I sold for 240M ;)
I've had 4-5 situations where I was scanning someone out and since I'm a inpatient bugger and will rather warp to a random belt when I have 3 belts and my target on a 15 degree scan then try to get 5 deg scans, I warp to a belt and no target there, but a nice shiny faction spawn ;)
Just got one in the last month though, all it dropped was some faction ammo, but hey, even that can sell for a few mil ISK.
One of the funnier situations was when I was hauling supplies on my alt once and I saw a faction cruiser spawn at a gate just in my home system. Relogging takes a awfully long time when you need it to happen fast, but eventually I got to it first ;)
It's all very chance-based though.

About 2 years ago I had 3 faction spawns in the same system. Got loads of arbie sieges. Back when they were worth alot, no faction loot tho (good for sec stats!) Went next door and killed a hauler spawn with two haulers, which spawned 20 cans each... that's right, each... They had two sad crusiers protecting them. Was pretty rofl. Anyways, about 400m worth of stuff in 30mins.

Its not a problem with faction rats as a whole , having lived in stain for a while the difference between the sanshas loot drops and the guristas is amazing rarely will a ts spawn not drop something decent (or at least faction) , with guristas you will be lucky if anything faction drops

It's all about luck - sadly. My best and funniest result was a faction frig in 0.5 space dropping a small faction tower bpc worth 80 million isk. The worst spawn was a commander drone (battleship) in drone regions. No bounty, no loot, no sec-status gain and no t2 salvage parts ... i earned not a single isk on it

In the last eight months I've had a lot of luck with Dread Guristas, on several occasions after DT picking up two in one system, one time three in one system (two in belts, one at a gate). Loot had ranged from sweet fa to DG invuls, Crystal Omega implants and large tower bpcs. At least 5bil isk for relatively little effort and time. Likewise Dominations drop in my lap regularly, but the loot is dire in comparison to Dread Guristas, still I continue to hunt them, it's better than grinding/chaining spawns. The trick, at least for me is to find a corner of space people don't frequent, and belt hop in an AF, usually a Wolf for Dominations and a blaster Harpy for Dread Guristas. True sec status and the quality of rat doesn't seem to matter. If I do this every day I'm guaranteed at least one spawn, if not on other days as seen above, I get several, so the average is at least one faction spawn per day, with random loot drops, although again as previously mentioned, the Dread Guristas spawns seem to drop the better loot more often.

Dominations drop loads of crap nine times out of ten unless you get a really large battleship.
I killed a Domination Nephilim today and got a LG Halo Omega and a Domination Gyrostabilizer.
ALSO
I remember a long time ago while I was living in Ebo (Domain), I killed a True Sansha Slavehunter or some frigate rat. It dropped ammo and a tag.
I went all the way through the belts. !!! There it was again in the SAME BELT!! And it dropped EXACTLY THE SAME STUFF.
Again, going around... there it is AGAIN! SAME LOOT!
I went around again and it was gone :(

2 Years ago the spawns seemed much better than it was either a drastic change in my luck or a stealth nerf in any case I noticed a drop in spawn rates and the loot droped.
tbh I find the current faction spawns stupid, I mean its a faction spawn for petes sake and they die so quick, anyone remember the end rat from Vengance lvl 4, now he had a tough tank faction rats should be more like that. |
