Hi guys just a quick little thread about what I got up to last night. ( the reason why is some people do want to hear about us at blood blind and what we get up to.)
Well the lads at havoc thought they would run a little t1 cruiser op. we like running these as everyone has a lot of fun even if we get killed by a far better prepared gang.
Our gang consisted of 2 covert ops, 1 hac , 1 recon, 8 t1 cruisers (with various disposable fits) and 3 ceptors. After a stuttering start as a trium fleet scooted past we got down to business. The Covert got a position on a Thanatos , Abaddon and Drake by the time we got into system only the Thanatos was still there as the Abaddon was aligned out. We Tackled the Thanatos and engaged hoping more would turn up and they did !
Here is our killboard so u guys can have a look and we did also have to call a few more bits in to bring down the carrier but remember guys most of these kills where down to the original gang and check where the damage went on the carrier as a few ppl just got there to get on the killmail.
http://mykillboard.net/bloodblindabuse/?a=kill_related&kll_id=877 Anyway gf all involved. See you all in space soon. Di Canio |

Haha yes the Disco-abaddon made me laugh aswell. Fantastic fight which I'm very happy I took part in. Long fight too!
One deceiving thing on the first list is that several of those hostile pilots actually came back with other ships as we were trying to break the Thanatos tank in our little ships, so quite a few kills aren't accounted for unless you scroll down to the list below to view everything downed in Vey.
/Shame at me for being outdamaged by an Ibis on some kill.

Best fight ever!
GF to the Legion of Honour guys, they certainly didn't lack in guts, and just kept coming. One poor guy threw three Stabbers into the fray, another hurled the Abaddon and disco-miner-Poc in.

I'd like to think that my Pilgrim helped him running out of cap...

What does a carrier need a warp disruptor for? I don't think I've ever seen that on a carrier killboard entry.
That sounded like a really great fight though, especially since Blood Blind only took two losses apparently.

Fighters are remarkably ineffective when they're chasing people around the system

I didn't feel the need to inform another person of this little nugget
I've been on the receiving end of a warp disrupt from a carrier I was hoping didn't have small drones on board... he did

I only raised the question because I'd have thought that carriers were pretty bad solo PvP ships... vulnerable to enemy gangs, so to align for warp, and really slow to attain a target lock. Logically then if a carrier isn't solo PvPing it would have a tackler escort to trap targets for it.
I've never been involved with carriers in small gangs so I'm just speculating there obviously.

Logically then if a carrier isn't solo PvPing it would have a tackler escort to trap targets for it. Putting a cap or shield recharger, or a shield hardener in that mid would add huge amounts of effective HP too, even on an armor tanking ship.

It's not an issue of solo anything, it's an issue of when your tacklers are dead/jammed/nos'd/being stupid/whatever, you have something big decently resilient tackling things. And if said carrier is caught by itself, it can actually (hopefully) kill something instead of simply losing control of its fighters.
Disruptor-fit carriers are, well, everywhere

My understanding is that fitting tackle on carriers is fairly standard in 0.0 fleets, because your tacklers have a nasty habit of getting Doomsdayed or eaten by the evil Lag-Monster.
Not that that's relevant to this carrier, but hey-ho.

Strictly speaking, I'm not sure you can call this a t1 cruiser gang. I mean, it was almost half t2 ships :P
But still, the results are no less impressive. It must have taken forever to kill that Thanatos like that. Nice one!

Most of the friendly T2 ships came just as the carrier was about to blow up. As said at first, we had 1 Hac (vaga), 1 Recon (falcon) and 8 t1 cruisers being our means of DPS and EWAR. Interceptors were there purely for tackling, with the Covert Ops naturally being our scouts. Most of the rest of the T2 ships listed showed up as the fight was pretty much over as we wanted to pop the carrier before he disappeared (as he had logged out).

First off id like to say GJ to the Blood Blind guys , You guys came in with a plan I heard and did a great job.
The pilot of the carrier learned one of the oldest rules of EvE......Dont fly what you cant fit right.
There where no fighters only Ogre II , not the smartest thing in the world but you live and learn ....
