yes to day and from now on i will give 1 mill away to a new lucky player thats starting in eve so post and answer to posts aloot feel free to post questions about every thing on the boards il go over em each day and give away 1 million isk 
EDIT: id like to see more of the players of eve doing the same thing as i am doing just to get more people to play eve ey.....:) where is the love :P

What if we dont want your money ? What if we'd much rather build up the money ourselves instead of taking free handouts, which IMO kind of defeats the object of the game somewhat. It really really bugs me when I see people in the chat windows ingame asking for money handouts.
Just me tuppence.

If someone offers to give you some cash you can always refuse, personally I think it's nice that some people offers help to new players, and there are a lot of people who does that. They do everything from give some cash to help out with mining etc.

I agree with Javoch and Numsie (except for the bit about getting out of planes). I see this happen from time to time in our corp channel. Somebody decides he wants to be magnanimous and give away vast sums to newbies. Personally, I think this is done solely for the gratification of the benefactor. I don't think it's very helpful to the newbies, who acquire a lot of wealth very quickly but have little idea what to do with it. Most of them go out and buy the biggest ship they can afford, then realise they have no means of using it, or if they also remembered to buy the necessary skills, they're faced with a long training period, then an even longer one while they learn the skills needed to equip the ship properly. Once they are able to use the ship, they find they don't really know what to use it for.
The game is best learnt (IMO) by gradual acquisition of wealth and skills. You find their is some skill or equipment that you need through experience of the game, then you go about obtaining it. There is a lot to learn about how to play EVE (just look at all the questions asked in corp & help channels since the 10-day trial), and having a lot of money early on just means that you will make huge mistakes instead of little ones. EVE is not a game for players who want instant gratification, it's about patience bringing rewards.
I was given a million by another player (who I had never previously communicated with). This happened minutes after I announced I'd just made my first million in the corp channel. I had felt a sense of accomplishment in earning that million, and didn't much appreciate someone else showing how little a million meant to them by throwing it at me. I returned it. It has taken me quite a while to get to 2 million, but in the process I think I have a good understanding of the basic game, and am well equipped in my skill choices to progress further up the achievement ladder.

I think this is a totally commendable attitude. Helping new players is best done by taking the time to explain the system and ropes. I have several RL buddies playing the game. I try to recommend they go through all of the tutorial missions and get their first ship upgrade themselves, while being on hand to help if something doesn't make sense to them.
I too remember making my first million - and there was nothing worse than someone making it seem insignificant.
Better to show the person how to make the million rather than hand the million over and say "off you go and play".

I think people have organized mining for newbies. They get together a lot of newbies and go to mine, the organizers provide protection and then buy the minerals slightly higher than the market price.

I know my newbie corp channel does this - they do 'mining events' just as described. I haven't participated, as I'm trying my hand at level 2 agent missions in my Merlin now  but they've definitely helped numerous new folks learn the ropes of combat and mining. Oh, and they also help them shop for new equipment.

hell im a super newbie and I can help give out a mill. I dont ask for much. but I do have one BIG favor to ask......(vets) if you guys see a stupid nob (longtooth) flying in an area he should not be 0.4-0.0 space hell give me a half a change to get out I make a few mistake I'm just tired of becoming a meat popsicle or a road kill bouncing off your windsheild. its dam cold out here and its even harder toget home when you have to thumb a ride !!!!!! thanks

Yeah for money !!!. Ahh figure ill earn it eventually. I was talkin to someone today and somehow he accidentally blew me up. He was real sorry about it though so now i gotta shop for a new ship:) Just gotta figure out what to buy!

I don't necessarily disagree with the anyone handing out money, it's theres to give. Although there is a great deal of satisfaction in earning your way. You may be ata disadvantage at first but you learn more along the way and have a little pride to have done it on your own.
Anyway a million isk does not go to far when you're a noob, which I am, even smartly spent you will run out fast enough.
I could use the cash now, saving up for my first cruiser! Oh, a mining I will go, a mining I will go...

Keep up with the help. Anyone who finds the forums would be able to do some fun things with 1 million. Perhaps you're setting up someone to become another altruist/philanthropist such as yourself.
I've only been playing a few days but I know enough that 1 mil will go a long way in establishing my character the way I want him skills wise.

Hello, im new to eve and messed around with my ship configuration. Problem is that i now have a fregatte and a missile launcher, but not the money to afford the missile skill o_O. If someone want's to get rid of like 20k, please send them to shimpu. thx ;D

I realize there are people out there who can spare millions and millions of ISK like Zelota, so if they want to give it away, more power to 'em; not all giveaways are bad.
When I lost my first Merlin, it was a foolish mistake (more like really stupid: warping to within 15KM of a Level2 kill mission target with a poorly fitted Merlin). Fortunately, a very kind fellow player who I had quite literally met only a few minutes prior was nice enough to retrieve my left behind cargo for me, and he also gave me 300 000 ISK. That was pretty steep but he said he was positive that it was fine. As it turned out, my (uninsured) Merlin cost nearly 300K to replace when I added in the lost cargo and modules, including thousands of rounds of ammunition and hundreds of light missiles.
Now, I didn't consider that to be a free newbie boost like giving 1 mil to a random person would be, and in fact I didn't get anything new from that 300K. It simply helped me get back on my feet far quicker, especially since I had only about 300K at the time, excluding the donation. As it turns out, I'm now also a member of the kind fellow's corporation, and there are many ways in which EVE players can help each other out when we make mistakes or do something stupid.
Just because I was able to recover quickly from my first lost Merlin didn't mean I totally forgot about it; I look at that as a lesson. Since my last Merlin I haven't lost anything (indeed, I've never even lost all of my shields) and I am very glad that there were people out there kind enough to help out.

Personally, I think it's cool to give newbies some amount of cash. I was given 400k by a player, and I paid it back later on when it became an amount that I could miss.
I think that giving the cash with a suggestion that whatever they do, spend it all on skills ... that would be the best for all involved. Some of the skills that are really helpful to newbies, whatever their path, are expensive.

still a great way to keep interest, gain a good rep for you and your corp and make newbs psychologically "own you one" 
i just hope you are also offering in game advice as to what to spend that on as well

Hey....don't critisize the guy for helpin n00bs. I myself just started playin 3 days ago an if wanted to give me 1 mil I would welcome and appreciate it. I admitt that I would have no idea what to do with it but being a n00b.....I would ask ;). It would give me a grander start than I already have and at this point I have bought several things I can't use and had to re-sell them.
I think if he his willing to give away a 1 mil then more power to him but I also think that he would be willing to help as well.

I know abit about the pride factor. Made my first 500k isk the other night, but then spent it all on a punisher (i've now gone through 2 of them..both blown up) and plenty of skills and lasers (which i've lost with the blown ships) heh
Felt good though.
As they say, the first million's the hardest but the most rewarding to make.

Woo im noob. Would love some free money but if not what the hey. Goin ok atm - got two friends who have also just started up and we got a good mining system down. Almost at 500k wooo! gets damn boring though mining all the time. Need some big guns or something.
There is so much to learn as well! Im sure ill get there ;) its fun though, dont like the look of the ships for my race hehe, my mates are much better. Anyway no particular reason for this message (oh yeh except the chance for some free money) lol but yeh just my general thoughts so far :) fancied posting a thread :P

Im still getting use to the game and all, but if you want to help out a poor lil noob like myself it would be much appreciated. Ofcourse im sure every noob like myself would appreciate a good free mill =) But how many of them love you as much as me?

I agree with some of the early responses here that you really shouldn't give out 1 million ISK to newbs. I think that doing that will have more of a chance of driving players away then keeping them interested. I've only been playing a few days but I know I wouldn't accept it.

Im new to this game, in fact I only started playing last night for a few hours. Ive played a whole shed load of online rpg type thingys, and this is the first one thats intelligent and doesnt have bloody swords and stuff.
I agree with the idea of gaining money gradually, or having higher people help you out with training or organising events.
A strange attitude for a n00b I know. The reason I cant stand coming into money too early is because I did exactly the same thing in Ultima Online. I got 10m from someone, because they were closing the account and I was chose at random (read that as 'Im a lazy bastard and bought it on EBay'). With that wealth I bought a shed load of decent items and armour, and suddenly I had no reason to play. I lost the feeling of satisfaction of working towards something, or the thrill of knowing I was just around the corner from getting something id worked really hard to get.
Alough I commend people for offering help like this to new people, its a selfless act and denotes respect and gratitude, it can really degrade the experience of learning and working towards a goal.
Maybe give someone enough to get a handful of skills, about 100k or something, then help them to get more cash on their own. That way someone has a nice little step up, to get the money rolling in on their own, without having to sit there bored for hours wondering what to do with a million.
Im sorry if that sounded rude, cos it isnt supposed to be. It would just be a shame if people lost interest because they have nothing to work towards.

A nice gesture it is.
I just started last night. I bought the game outright. I like it already. I didn't even know there was a free trial :p.
Anyway, I am all for earning my stuff. If you see Zeltan Shadowhawk asking questions, it's because I'm trying to learn. I spend lots of time reading forums and such to learn as I can. Just be patient if the question seems dumb. It probably is, but I won't know it at the time.
