Hey all I'm looking for a guide to tank worlds collide. My friend can do it in his Dom but I can't do it in my Raven. I'm just wondering if anyone has some killer setups that I could use. I can't seem to find any good guides on making an uber Raven tank. And before it comes up I did look on the sticky but everyone I seem to find on the Raven they have to warp out on worlds collide. Just looking for one that can tank it. Thanks for any help I'm really kinda lost! :)

tbh, there's more posts about raven setups for level 4s than any other topic on this forum. You might want to state your setup so that others can offer suggestions, and what version of WC you're attempting.

that looks like a sansha setup tank ?
i am running a semi passive tank on my raven
low's 1*Damage control t2 1*Bcs rest Shield relays t2
mids 3*invul t2 rest Large Extenders t2
Highs 6 Cruise 2* Drone Link Aug
Rigs you can either 3*Pruger or 3*Extender's or mix it up
dont release your drones untill your 60+km from main rat base
yes this does look a silly fit but it doe's work with my skills, shoot the webbers so you can get to range

Sorry to leave you all hanging. Here is my current set up.
High's 6 cruise missile 2, salvager, tractor beam. Mid 3 tech 2 shield hardners, large shield boster tech 2, and two shield boost amp's t1 Low 2 tech 2 ballistic control centers, and 3 power diagnoistic tech 2
I have no rigs as of yet because I don't know what to put on their to make my tank an uber tank. Should I go with 3 ccc's or is their a better set up for my ship?

You can't go wrong with CCCs. I did Worlds Collide (Guristas/Angels) with my Raven, never had to warp out. Of course, Sanshas are probably more difficult, but here's my setup anyway...
I use the following:
-High- 6 Arbalest Cruise Launchers
-Mid- 1 XL Shield Booster 4 Rat-Specific Hardeners 1 Heavy Cap Booster with CAP 800s
-Low- 2 Ballistic Control Systems 3 Power Diagnostic Systems
-Rig- 3 Capacitor Control Circuits
I use CrumpleCorn(tm) Sigs, because they (and he) are awesome! |

More "burst" tank, less long-term tank. Provided you could clear out enough ships in a group really really fast, wait for cap to recharge over 80%, then tackle the next group, then yes, CDCSs are better. However, you don't always get that kind of luxury, and you're a lot more interested in long-term sustainable damage, so CCCs are the way to go. ___
If anything, you should probably change the PDSs with CFCs, drop the booster, add a cap recharger, and you might be very close to a perma-XL-tank (with decent skills and implants, it's actually doable). Or, use CPRs instead... less perma-tank, but almost certainly "perma".

In my Domi I use 3 ccc's but in my Raven I use 3 cdfp's (core defense field purgers)along with 2 LSE II's, 2x Invul field II's and 2 rat specific shield amps in mids and with 2 psr IIs, bcs II, dc II, and pds II in low slots. Besides the cruise/torp in highs also use a nos and a drone link aug (sometime swap out nos for another drone link)

Edited by: Strom Kryos on 21/01/2008 19:53:31 Old setup has worked the past 3 yrs. Used for serp version
-High- 6 Domination Cruise Launchers 2 Heavy Diminishing Nos
-Mid- 1 CL 5 XL Shield Booster 1 tII Invul Shield Hardner 2 DG Therm Shield Hardner 1 DG Kin Shield Hardner 1 Best Named Painter
-Low- 2 tII Ballistic Control Systems 2 Power Diagnostic Systems 1 tII Dam Control
5 tII Hobgoblins 5 tII Hammerheads
As long as you dont aggro more than 1 group at a time you wont need to warp out.
Guess I lied.. untill the past 6 mnths/year I used to use another hardner instead of the painter and pdu instead of the dam control.

Actually managed to get through this one without warping out, even with my horrible lag issues...
6x Cruises (T2 if you can)
1x C-5L XL Shield Booster 1x Shield Boost Amp 4x Active Hardeners
3x BCS II 2x PDU II
3x CCC rigs
5x T2 Med Drones
Really have to watch your agro, but the faster you can clear out the hardest hitting objects in a mission, the better off you'll be. That should let you hold your tank for a few mins, long enough to kill off some of the rats. Kill the booster when you get up to 90% shields and activate it when you get to 50% shields. This pulse should keep you alive through just about anything shy of a full room agro.
If you aren't fitting full T2 (minus the weapons) in a lvl 4, you should really ask yourself if you are ready to run them. Didn't have the T2 XL Booster, but was just fine with the best named. www.the-bastards.com Ask me about recruiting options |
