Edited by: The Watchmaker on 17/01/2008 12:03:06 Please would you give me help on choseing a rig to enhance damage output. I want to increase the damage output of my ship and can fit either:
Energy collision accelerator (increase the damage output)
OR
Energy burst aerator (increase rate of fire)
Can someone tell me the pro's & con's?
Help very much appreciated.

RoF - Higher dps, Higher ammo/cap consumtion Damage output - Higher alpha
That is all.

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 17/01/2008 12:06:53 i believe that the Burst Aerator gives a slightly higher DPS increase than the Collision accelerator rig. (atleast, according to EFT they do, never monitored it in game)
But as has been stated, if you're using crystals that will burn out (faction or T2) then you'll be using more ammo with a Burst Aerator.

The ROF gives you a bit more DPS, but uses more cap. I prefer the dmg rigs myself because cap is too important.

I thought the theory was that damage and RoF rigs were a no-no since their boost is so small and they are stacking nerfed with damage mods? If you have 2-3 heatsinks already your rig is going to be nearly useless and you're almost definitely better off improving some other facet of your guns, or your tank, or your cap?

of course that is true, unless you have already all your low slots occupied, you have spare grid and you want more damage.
in that case the 2 rigs = somewhat 1 dmg mod that you can't fit ---

still id much rather fit optimal range booster rig. thats alot of range added and that is alot more dps boost if you consider the whole range of the weaponry. Rof and dmg rigs are crap.

It is usually better to remove a cap mod from your lows, replace it with a damage mod, and fit a CCC, than to fit a damage rig. About the only application for damage rigs is ships with too few lowslots, and those are usually not worth fitting rigs on at all...
There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Scorpion There is no 'e' in Caldari There is no makeup in rogue drones |

Cost of CCC rig > cost of 2 damage rigs.
Cheaper to go cap mod low 2 damage rigs. vs. Damage mod low and CCC rig.
Plus what if you want damage - but you really want that suitcase? Suitcase + weapon rigs = getting both.
Yes weapon rigs stack nerf - but you don't use them when you already have 3 damage mods - its meant to open up your options in your low slots by using 2 damage mods and some extra tank, or nano...

Sorry, but two weapon rigs on an Amarr ship? That's counter-effective as you won't be able to fit all of your weapons with those rigs.
