A new LAN centre is opening up in Glasgow.
They are running several tournaments throughout the day including CS:S, U3 and CoD4.
Prizes include (X2)ú250 and a Nintendo DS.
The tickets are ú25 a pop, a little steep but i think i stand a good chance in all three of those tournaments.
Anyway the main point is im wondering if a LAN centre is for me. Has anyone ever been to one of these events and if so what was your take.
Were those that turned out fashioned from 100% geek? Were the stupid show girls embaressing?
Or was the whole event fun?
Im going to go buy tickets within an hour or two (if) I get some good feedback...
Are LAN centre's any fun!?

Might consider going to this, Glasgow is within spitting distance.....

I been to a lan once many years ago I was about 16 or sumthing. Didnt like it.. not many girls at all . mostly skinny guys who didnt like gettin beat at AVP on the PC & Red alet 2 was it?
also I got very sick that night must of got the worsed sickness for a long time woke up on the floor shaking!

This doesnt bode well! Sickness you say!
Still im not worried about girls
a) 1 fiancee is enough
b) Its a LAN centre the lack of flange is entirely normal!
c) I'm gaming i don't want!

I spent my collage time at a LAN. I don't think it was somewhere where they would have ran ú250 prize torniments since there was only about 20 computers.
Still, like I said, I spent most of my collage time there, rather then at collage, so I overall the LAN environment I found rather good.
