Which skills can be learned to speed up warping. My Retriever takes very long to warp which in some situations is quite dangerous. Will it help to install a micro-warpdrive.

Evasive Manuvering will help you get into warp faster.
As will fitting Nanofiber Structure and/or Interal Stabalizers.
It can also help if you get your ship pointed in the direction you want to warp ahead of time.
Fitting a MWD will only make things worse. When active, a MWD will increase the speed that you need to reach before you can warp and will also decrease how quickly you can turn.

no. mwd will not help your warp speed. what you can do is rig your ship with hyperspatial velocity optimizer I, which is one of the astronautic ship modification. |

Further to Matalino's post, Spaceship Command will also help your ship align more quickly.
Other than that, you're looking at rigs, which can be very expensive.

Okay, what the OP is wanting to know is how to get into warp fast, not necessarily speed while in warp.
The skills for fast acceleration are: Spaceship Command and Evasive Manuvering. The Modules that will help: Inertial Stabilizers, and to a lesser extent, Nanofibers. (Stick with the I-Stabs) The Low Friction Nozzle Joints rig also increases a ship's agility, making for faster times getting to warp.
Now, the other mention of higher speed while IN-WARP is done through use of that Hyperspace Velocity rig mentioned earlier. That rig only makes the ship faster while in warp, but does nothing for being able to actually get to warp speed. (Usually only used on Interceptors and Blockade Runners) _______________________________

Align your ship before you NEED to warp. That is, point your ship at something you want to warp to. You can speed up before hand to make yourself faster to get into warp as well, but this is not an option on a Retriever while mining.
However, if you are aligned to an object and moving at 75% speed or greater, you can enter warp almost instantly. even with a slow ship like a Retriever.
There are also a few tricks using Afterburners and MWDs to take advantage of warp mechanics, but neither is practical on a barge. Inertia stabs will make you align faster, as well, as will anything that decreases your ship's mass. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Actually, firing an MWD/AB CAN help you get to warp faster, but only if your time to align is longer than your MWD/AB cycle.
