Is it possible to have a good armor tank setup for a caldari BS/BC? im a armor tanker at heart but use missles (khanid yeaaa boii!) i seem to be lacking any real damage in the amarr BS i use due to poor gunnery skills. anyone know a good caldari armor tank? it will be used primarily for plex running / ratting --------------- "Vegeta what does the scouter say about Azraels DPS"...... Possible, yes.
Efficient ? Not at all. Wrong armor amount, small number of low slots, no bonuses to armor tanking.
Seriously, if you want to use Caldari missile boats, training the skills for a shield tank is not that hard, nor very long (you don't need all those skills at 5 to mount a good tank). <~ sig starts here My Skills

Usually, you wouldn't want to armor tank any Caldari ship unless you had something "better" to do with the mids (such as ewar).
You'll get a better shield tank with T1 than a T2 armor tank with perfect skills (I've done this before).

From experience, I know you can armor tank the raven like a beast. It's got just enough lowslots for a fairly strang dual rep tank, and enough midslots to fit the neccessary cap boost + other modules u may wish to use (afterburner, webber atc)
With the launchers using no cap, you can keep the tank running pretty nicely, and if your ratting in it, you can fit the hardeners specific and have a rather strong tank.
Fraid I don't recall the setup tho, have a play around. It can be done.

i remember a time when armor tanked ravens weren't all that unusual an idea. but that was when ECM was overpowered and filling your midslots with it was well worth dropping to the weaker armor tank.

Only a couple of months ago people were running plate tanked damp/cruise ravens.

Yeah. If you wanted to see the definition of "flying brick", it was a triple-plated MWDing Cruise damper-Raven.

Well you can go for a scorp armor tank, if you don't mind not having too many missiles, or bonuses on em. You can still squeese an okay buffer with little reppin power, and a huge rack of E-war in the mids.

The scorp is very useful as an armor tank for sure, although usually I would use a buffer rather than an actual tank because when you have BS sized ewar you usually have logistics ships too. Aside from that though, the only time I would put any sort of armor on another Caldari ship is if I just wanted to add a HP and already have a dc II on a ship that just has a buffer although I can't even think of an exmaple atm.
