Am I misunderstanding something here? I have a level 2 agent with a relationship factor of 3.77 (decent) and I have the connections skill trained to level 4 giving me a relationship factor of 4.77 with this agent, yet I cannot use the level 3 agent next in line which tells me I must have a faction, corp or personal relationship of 4.70 to use him. Does the connection skill not bring me to that point with the improved rating of 4.77? Or do I need to start a petition? Any help would be appreciated.

Let me get this straight, you have Agent A which is a level 2 agent that you have an effective standing of 4.77 to. Agent B is a level 3 agent that needs an effective standing of 4.7 to talk with. And you are expecting your person standing with agent A to work on agent B?

If your personal connection with the agent is not high enough you would need a standing with either his corporation or faction of at least that high.
So if he's say from the caldari navy your standing with them or caldary state has to be 4.7

You can't. You obtain faction with his Corporation.

One last attempt to explain my problem....
Level 3 agent indicates that I must have a faction, corp, or personal standing of 4.70 to use him. My effective standings are as follows:
Faction (Gallente) 2.54
Corporation (Fed Navy) 4.45
Personal (Level 2 agent of Fed Navy) 4.77
Yet I still cannot use the level 3 agent, WHY??? |

Because your personal standing with the new (level 3) agent is not sufficient ie 4.7.
Your faction standing is not high enough and your corp standing is just too low. You need to spend more time working for lower level agents in the corp to get that standing above 4.7 then the new agent will talk to you.

That makes no sense....how can I have a personal standing with an agent I've never worked for? Think about it!! This is getting really frustrating. I wish the devs read the forums. Maybe we would get a better grasp of what they intended for certain features. |

To reiterate:
Your standing with the level 2 agent:
Faction (Gallente) 2.54
Corporation (Fed Navy) 4.45
Personal 4.77
Your standing with the level 3 agent:
Faction (Gallente) 2.54
Corporation (Fed Navy) 4.45
Personal 0.0
What you need is 4.7 in any one of these three standings, and currently you don't have that.
And since you ask why personal is then even mentioned, please keep in mind that standings can also go down, if you fail missions for example, or kill NPCs of that corp.
Also, if you have ever worked for that agent, your connections skill is figured into the personal standing.
