What I really would like to know is why isn't there an ingame setting for AA / Ansitropic filtering etc right from the start? Why do we have to fiddle around with 3rd party tools instead of setting this ingame like in most other games?
And btw, about the high res textures... YES PLEASE, I would really like to have them available. The new content looks great, unless you zoom in to close, textures become to blurry then :(
Why not make an optional upgrade to the standard premium content available for players with systems that can handle the high res textures? Please? Pretty please

Oh god, do it. Do it. Please do it. God yes. Ohh dammit I need to change my underwear now.
Originally by: CCP Redundancy but doing so has an obvious cost in texture memory, installer size and installed disk footprint etc.
Don't care. Want. Want now.
Thanks :D
Ditto. Well without the having to change the underware part.

Originally by: CCP Redundancy The reason the videos look a bit crisper in the video is probably because they're using the full size uncompressed TGA textures. They were captured from graphics engine, but not from in-game, because at the time they were being done, the game integration of the art assets wasn't finished.

My 512mb graphics memory, 16mb internet connection and 250GB hard drive said make it so. ---------------------------------

I run with a 8800GTX OC, on Vista x64 with all the settings forced as high as they will go on Nhancer. The game looks fantastic and i get 100+ FPS in station.
This screenshot i took doesnt do it justice.

Would love to see the full res uncompressed textures in game. AA+HDR is great and looks very much like the trailers but still not -quite- as good. Unless CCP goes ahead and makes textures avilable you best looking eve client is still going to come from using 3rd party apps to force AA/AF and HDR/Bloom.
Maybe the textures could come out as an option for us when the rest of the new models come into the game?

Could this be done as 'premium premium' content?
If not, how about making these textures available to those artists working with EVE content in external applications (3DS Max, Maya, and so on)? I do this regularly and run into problems with texture quality all the time.

Edited by: Yerik Locke on 19/01/2008 19:00:55 I agree, there should be a setting like in most games that allows you to increase the texture resolutions.

One more hand in favor.
