you picked a fight over what looks like perfectly reasonable comments on a few (objectively) bad ship fittings.
On the Drake fitting linked above the first four comments are all constructive criticism with reasonable suggestions for improving it - more resistances, mids/lows/rigs are not chosen well, too many tank modules overall, more damage would be nice, ...
No matter which way you look at it - this fitting might work well enough to get you through some missions but it is not good at what it does and could be easily improved on by following some of the suggestions.
That's no question of personal preference but a question of raw numbers & game mechanics. Your personal preference may be "passive Drake with some tank to spare" but while your fitting does fit that preference other fittings matching the same preferences would be much more capable than your setup.
now, the fun (or sad) part is that you picked a fight that is restricted to weapons which you don't master - EVE and words.
Your fittings show a lack of understanding of game mechanics and basic fittings theory - that would be quite understandable if you were a new player but they haven't improved one bit over the past three years.
Maybe you don't care because they are "good enough" for whatever you want to do with them and you feel no need to get better at this part of EVE - but picking a fight that will most likely carry over into EVE pvp may not have been a good idea.
Then there are words... you are bad at words but you like using big ones. You don't read books but you are writing one. You are a bad public speaker but you do youtube videos. Your spelling & grammar is atrocious at times but you never stop posting.
The military is a place where language doesn't matter much: words are just a tool to convey information as efficiently as possible, many exchanges are codified, sentences/grammar are purposely kept simple in verbal communications, there is no need to convince/sway/lure people, ...
Maybe the long time in the military (you probably weren't sitting at some air-conditioned desk writing lengthy reports and are damn proud of that) did make you forget the importance & power of good language skills a bit but you really should take the time and watch your own youtube videos a few times (most people hate watching themselves on recordings but you yourself are your best teacher and most critical judge).
Your written & verbal communications skills are obviously not your strong suit, so why pick a fight that is primarily fought with words?
You are angry, you probably are a little drunk and you started the equivalent of a barroom brawl with weapons that you are hopelessly outmatched at.
In short, you are making a fool of yourself and you wonder why people keep cheering you on? |

i have played eve for a few years not other then the year i took off due to a few bumps in the road of life,then i come in here and challenge your ideals and say things that you dis like or do not want to hear so you all attack me on here and in game.
just goes to show that even in this day and age the only way people like you is if you are a sheep and go with the herd.
but i my self do not do that i believe that i was given a voice and free will for a reason, so i plan on using both.
and in this wonderful age of computers internet mass media and youtube, i can get my voice heard and with the forums here a lot of you are used to the flow of things, some of you do player on player other do missions and each has there own slice of the map or game and feel that no one should rock the boat.
the same can be said about eve gate and battle clinic, and then you get some one like me that comes in and rocks the boat, and it shakes up your little world to the point of almost madness, so what do you say to that you attack me and in some cases mute me so that i can not up set your little internet world.
but still i have not gone i am still here i will always be here. what you need to understand is that if you go with the herd then you will can not achieve the most out of life, and that goes for both eve online and real life.
i know i may sound like a troll but i am not i just know that i feel the need to speak out on topics that no one wants to talk about and i have been told to shut up before but really it does not work with me.
some of you may see tears in this but there is none there is just a heart felt concern that there is a herd mind and that there needs to be a voice to shake things up.
