I just joined this game 30 days ago, I was like im gonna save all my stuff, save my money, get a kick ass corp goin, then i stated reading the forums. Just finished reading about the Russians,Red Alliance, DMC, Bob, 50 man fleets bringing pos guns to someone else station, how it was spotted. DAMN.
Yesterday I kept warping into a structure while level 2 droids blew up my Caracal. After reading the posts in here I think ill stay in my little corner and reprocess light missles. I sthere a guide to corps. How do you guys keep track of this By the way my love for this game just intesified tenfold, as my PS3 gently weeps.

Try to join someone who doesnt suck. It's better to jump right into the fray and get lots of action than enemies than to join KOS and cascade fail the rest of your gametime^^ You learn much better that way.

Edited by: Reacz on 18/01/2008 11:45:08 Yeah, find a good corp, then come to 0.0 and learn:
1) Fleets with the same numbers (roughly) will run away from you and will only fight you when they outnumber you 3:1 and have Carrier support or can hot-drop Carriers on you.
2) POS warfare is an epic bore.
3) There is no such thing as 1v1 or small gang PvP.
Good luck!

Anything you read in this section is propaganda and you should take it with grains of salt the size of 0.0 Veldspar 'roids. Other than that: welcome to Eve, enjoy your stay. ---

nice one ;)
hey, there is a way to deal with fear in this game, join eighter goons or kos. you wont be scared anymore. why?
in goonswarm: there are lots and lots of them, so being inside a swarm will keep you nice and warm ;)
in kos: welp... you will be raped everyday by AAA, so it wont matter to you anymore very soon.
good luck ;) _________________________________________

ôFear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.ö
Get yourself into a position where you are comfortable that you can lose some ships, and then go browse the recruitment forum and ask people ingame looking for corps. You aren't guaranteed to get a good match, but eventually you'll find a corp that fits with what you want in the game.
The main problem with looking for corps in 0.0 at the moment is of course The Great War. Any corp that isn't part of one of the major alliances runs to risk of being turned upon and mercilessly crushed by a bored superpower. Of course, any corp that is part of one of the major alliances is also often quite difficult to join. But it's just something you have to accept if you want to get into that side of the game.

My advice? get stuck into the worst situations eve can throw at you, massive blobs and POS warfare, big capital fights.
Its not fun, but at least you will gain experience that will make you understand eve a little better than remaining in empire.

ah, the fleet fights :) 60 vs 60 = mid size fleets. 120 to 300 vs 120 to 300 = about standard size engagements. just hope the nodes can hold it. try to join a 0.0 corp in a 0.0 alliance, make friends, learn stuff, eventually try to lead gangs, best way to learn is to lose, get a fleet of t1 frigates, and roam around untill you're all dead. eventually go higher and better. better ships means you lose more money when they go down, but the chance of winning is usually greatly improved...
when you get the hang of this, try to get your friends to pull stuff together, go and try to create your own 0.0 corp with help of the friends you already found. this way it's way easier to get started, and you can use your experience to teach to your new members and to be successfull. also, the source of every good corporation is a good industry. a rich corp is a happy corp. altough, you need to find a good balance between PvP and industry. also let your industry work for your PvP ppl, they are the reason why you are there in the first place. some corporations and alliances tend to forget that.
but keep in mind, this is my personal view on things, and don't have to be the correct way. i'm not a CEO, and i don't ever tend to become one.
