If you're new to PVP, you shouldn't be flying anything larger than the Merlin. For quite a while.
And the Merlin is the best "surprise-I-killed-you" T1 frigate in game, so enjoy it. Dont forget the Harpy and Hookbill off of the list for great Caldari pvp ships, also if you are playing the lol game a battle buzzard is pretty hilarious.

Caldari gunboats are... Ok if you put blasters on them; they'll be able to hit much further than Gallente ships with blasters, which IMO is more useful than a damage bonus. What good is that damage bonus if you can't apply it?
I've been told that some blaster ferox fits are like a gank Brutix but with a little less DPS and more survivability, as well.
I've gotten an electron blaster Moa fit that does just over 400 raw DPS with Void M and my skills as well; don't know if that's actually all that great or not though. If you ever want to be doing stuff in this Moa though I'd have a tacklebro lying around to help you in the webification area.
I see little wrong with other suggestions that other people have provided either, really, although I personally have no clue how to fit Kestrels, only Merlins. |
