Edited by: Drahcir Nasom on 24/03/2004 09:45:17 Today I got a mission to fly 7 jumps (from Ardene to Olide) which includes 2 jumps of about 90AU, collect 520m3 of ammo and fly the 7 jumps back again, and I was given just 25 minutes to do the trip.
I flew the mission in a hauler with 2 AB's on it, and used the AB's at every gate an approaching both stations, yet I missed the time bonus by 3 minutes. Even in a cruiser with an MWD I think it would have been impossible to complete this mission in the required time.
The strange thing is, I've been getting missions like this all week, and all the previous missions have had bonus time limits of 45 min.
Papa Smurf, any comment?

A fast cruiser with MWD would definately have cut off enough time for you to have made the time bonus. Try and find a new ship and setup for your missions. Ive never used an indy once for missions. The right cruiser and cargo expanders make courier missions bearable.

there are a couple of frigates that can carry 550m3 with cargo expanders.
with MWD, it's possible but close.

Try Using a Vexor with expanders (gives you about 1000m/3 of space) and 2 MWD gets along quite fast and drop 1 or more expanders for reactor relays and cpu is no problem |

The thing is I have been doing missions exactly like this one for over a week, and the time bonus has always been 45min, my question is really why this mission has suddenly changed to 25min.
As for mission setup, I have a BS for the fighting missions, a fast frigate for missions with cargo <200m3 and an indi with overdrives and afterburners for all other courier missions. Does this mean I have to get yet another ship for doing missions with cargos between say 200 and 1000 and just use the hauler for the large haulage missions? I don't know of any cruiser that can move 1500, 1700 or 1800m3 of cargo, and I'm regulalrly asked to move that volume by my agent, and I think the largest was 2175m3.

Minmatar Probe, with Minmater Frigate skill to lvl4 and a couple of expanders in the lowslots.
Microwarp drive and Afterburner in midslots.
lots of cargo and very quick.
Also - get yourself some small secure cans, they take up 100m3 cargo but can hold 120m3 of stuff. Can get your self an extra 100m3 if you use 5.

Maller + expanded cargohold + MWD + AB = great ship.

Caracal with 2 expander and 100mn Afterburner beats all
(Fights and hauls all in one "no-penalty" bundle)
FWIW 520m3 is a "special" size of cargo in mission terms. Being able to haul that size cargo in one trip is essential for many agents at level 3 (even some at level 2).

I think not our Amarr ships are the greatest in the Galaxy my Arbitrator is far superior 1500 (drone bay) = 6 heavies for combat 2x Named medium Lasers 1x small smart bomb (missile defence) 1x defender launcher
midslot 1x 100 MW afterburner
5 x expander 1s = 1000 cargo 5x overdrive 1 = +150 speed
at station 1x400 plate armour 1x named small armour repairer 1x small hull repairer
I laugh at your ugly and inferior caldari vessel

And now they have modified warp speeds so frigates warp twice as fast as cruisers and battleships and haulers warp 50% faster, we'll all have to rethink our mission ship strategies all over again.

Omen
2MWD, large cap battery up to 5 expanders in low, swap out for cap power relays. Can get up to 1000 m3 or higher with expander I's or better. Hit gates at around 2500 m/s
-- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |

Inquisitor Frigate - 4 expanded cargo expansions + large cannister and small cannister within hold = space over 600 m3. Stick on a microwarp drive and you have a new Amarr best friend in terms of agent courier missions that are on the large size.
Don't use cruisers, frigates are faster and are enough for the most part - I have only on the rarest occasions needed to make double trips because of higher amounts and its still quicker to make double trips in the frigs. -----

Probe...
2 expanders, 1 mwd, 1 small cap battery.
with my skills: 550 m3, 100au jumps and 2100m/s at gates (usually don't get to top speed by the time I hit the gate...
*shrugs* I haven't missed a bonus since last fall...

Oh, and don't ask for mission in indy, you'll get a large delivery mission :D
Not sure if this is true or not, but legend says that if you ask for a mission with a cargo expander installed, the chances of large cargo mission increases ....

Wraeththu is right. An Omen is a nice ship for missions. 2 MWD's and a large battery, and low slots can be PDS units. Carries 450m3 default setup.
Then you keep expanders in your hold or hangar for when you need large loads. Sometimes I cruise with 4 PDS and 1 27% expander and it is like 540m3 or something. Morkt mentioned how a lot of missions issued are 520m3.
I keep an Omen at each of my agent's hangar so I can do missions whenever I am there.
Whether or not the 45min to 25min bonus time is a change; I don't know.

depending on what type of industrial you use depends on how youll set it up heres a set up for iteneron mark 5, High slots: 2 small smart bombs (anti missle) Mid slots: 2 afterburners,2 cap rechargers, 1 small sheild boster Low slots: 5 overdrive injectors 1 ,(or if you need more cargo)5 nanofiber 1
With overdrives I can get 702 m/s ,with nanofibers I can get over 500 m/s

I have two agents in one station and a max range of 5 jumps on missions (excluding long hauls). I fly an Inquisitor with a microwarp. I accept a mission from both agents and then head out and had no problems completing missions before a few days ago. Now I can't finish before bonus deadline and all of the jumps are along the same route (max roundtrip is 10 jumps).
Obviously somebody altered the missions to reflect the new warp speed but the deadlines are too small now. ---
