I never thought I would write a post about mining and the lack of available roids in .5 space & above to mine, but I am. Though posts have been written about available roids in .5 space, they are quickly drying up. I've been in .5 space mining near Amarr for better part of 5 months and have watched large corps come in and strip the entire system, move to the next and strip, move to the next, strip that and so on. I've watched em strip 8 .6 & .5 systems [some .4 systems to] that are around my headquarters in Arera. We are talking entire systems which is a lot of ore and just an astronomical amount of minerals from that ore.
I feel for the new players as I see their point. whats the point when a strip mining corp will come into a system and virtually take very thing out in a week or two then move next door and do the same.

Ouch.
Well this has always been a problem to be honest my friend, and I expect it will not get any better unless you try a new area.
You can also try mining from systems that don't have any stations in them as they seem to attract less miners. (there are some in empire like the Janus system hehe)
Or you try and set up shop in another system if you are minerals/ore for sale type miner.
I feel for the newbs too to be honest, I'm a miner and I don't like some of the more selfish types who can't leave fields for others.
The issue here really is that battleships were never meant to mine (in my opinion).
Its no better than letting gankers sit in yulai podding newbs. ----- Janus "I'm not a stripper, I'm a miner." |

This is discussed in several topics. One of them has hit 17 pages as we type.
Unfortunately I can't see why it's selfish stripmining systems after systems. It's part of the game. The ore belongs to nobody and everybody. And blame DED for not expanding the empire space after the giant population growt the last half year. I've been on the move several times myself, finding new systems to mine in.

In fact, that thread is the offspring of another 11 page long one, plus there were many other smaller threads on the problem. Total length over 30 pages (600+ posts).
Good luck to dig yourself trough it.
Some quick links: newest thread (17 pages) an older thread (11 pages) a smaller thread (2 pages) the shortest thead on the issue (only a few posts)
------------- This post is nothing more than my personal opinion. It does not represent the official standpoint of Fountain Alliance, or the HUN Corporation in any way. ------------- |
