when u lose a ship...
1) the ISK
2) the hassle of fitting a new one.
For me it's #2, each and everytime.
Even when I lose a T2 ship with the epic fail insurance payout, when it's a near 100% 200m loss, it's still unfathomably more annoying having to go to Jit-fail and get another ship.
That is all.

Has to be no. 2 - you shouldn't be flying a ship you can't afford to replace anyway.

i tend to set a few up whenever i go shopping. it's easier that way, and it means i've almost always got a couple of properly fitted ships in my hanger.
although how 'properly' fitted they are is subject to much mockery from my corpmates, who seem to think i struggle with basic ship-fitting concepts. :( [IMAGE REMOVED] |

Maybe pay someone to fit you new one and bring it to you if it's so annoying?

Both. I dislike losing ISK needlessly, beacuse, in the end, if I do it too often I would eventually run into the problem of replacing one.
Since I'm flashing red and don't have a *trained* alt, getting BCs or even cruisers occasionally can be a pain. I do typically have spare gear in the hangar, because every now and then I go shopping for bargains on my alt to make my ships as cheap as possible.

2 points. 1: If you have a gazillion isk, can I have some. And 2: If you have a gazillion isk, why the need to go to Jita then? Buy somewhere else for a bit more? --

I have never had to go to Jita to fit a new ship.
Going 20-30 jumps plus risk getting stuck just to fit a new ship seems like a huge waste of time. I value my time and prefer to use it making money rather than just... flying a really long ways for something i can get nearby.

simple, just grab another of the whole bunch you already got fitted and ready in your hangar. if you dont have that then i guess you fail.

Bit of both. I seem to go through quite a few Crows, but that's the nature of Interceptors. Luckily they're not too expensive, so I buy about 5 at a time (same as a single battleship) and get all the fittings, then move them to my home station. It's cuts down the hassle. This isn't always as easy when dealing with HACs or battleships though - the vast majority of people can't afford to buy 5 battleships at a time for example. But if you can, you may as well. It'll save you more time in the future. I R BE KING (and queen) OF CHEESE! |

If I lose a ship its usually the fact that I had a totaly blond moment that got me spaced in the first place...And that annoys me.
Replacing ships and parts is all just a matter of time , so does not bother me at all.

That's why there should be a fitting shop, where you much like factories turn in ships and modules to have multiple ships fitted to the same mold.
Should/would/could have, HAVE you chav!

Well the isk has never been a problem for me. My tactic to combat number 2 though is to have a starter alt set 1-2 jumps outside of jita. and still be in the forge region. Buy the ships and setups (muliples usually 10 or so at a time) contact freighter pilot pay them to goto the lag fest and haul the ships and setups out to me. Once at the drop off point, fit the ships and have some fun.

When I started getting into PvP a while back I learned very quickly that having one PvP ship is not good. It gets smoked, you're immediately out of action until you can replace it.
So I started to buy combat ships two or three at a time, buying the modules I needed in batches of 5 or 10. Get every ship fitted out and ready. What if you end up switching to another ship class? Doesn't matter, most of the kit you can recycle and use on the new ship, the rest you can stash away for a rainy day.

Well I suppose that's a good answer to those who complain that the "death penalty" of EvE is getting too weak. Jita is that penalty.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
