When I retire from Eve I'm gonna start a pub called 'The kilted goon'. That's gotta be a winner. |

Originally by: Tor'quemada Im still undecided about the podcast. Ive only been playing EVE for about 3 weeks, and although I am only on episode 7 of the EVE one I have listened to many podcasts in the past.
Its really funny - in a strange rather than humorous sort of way - but being British myself I find Urban Mongrel's accent grating. I'm sure its genuine and not put on, but it is what you expect non-Brits to affect as a British accent rather than a "true" british accent lol.
I enjoy Winkleblinks accent & no offence to Urban, Im sure youre a really nice guy, just without the voice for audio commentary.
So all hail the slagging off Im going to get......
Jesus Christ people! First I get accused in Iceland of looking nothing like people had imagined me based on my voice in the podcast and now Tor'quemada is claiming I don't have a "true" British Accent!
Well how about if I spend the next show talking like **** van Dyke in Mary Poppins to prove what a really bad attempt at a brit accent should sound like!
*EDIT* LOL - Mary Poppins PWND by the forum swear filter!

Only for when I have to leave the house. I was listening to the podcast while eating lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant and now they won't let me go back :(
On a side note, where's Winterblink? I want to say "what's up" to my new blue buddy.

Great episode guys.
The tracking guide was very good and I'm recommending this episode to all the noobs I help out as tracking can be a diffcult concept for them to grasp.
Keep up the good work , I look forward to many more great casts. Thanks --------------------------------- Monkey Nut Helping noobs since 2005

Nice podcast once again. Better late than never! The only thing I worry about when it is late is that there will be no more (like at least 2 previous Eve podcasts in 2006 I know of that suddenly just stopped with no warning)
Great show, I like that is was nearly 2 hours. Can't get enough talk about Eve!
I liked the tracking info. Please keep doing these! Missles should be next. :) Other things that would be good to cover: Building and Production "how to" in production slots, researching to build tech 2, etc.. Research agents and datacores... POSs in high sec, low sec, 0.0, how these relate to standings, what you can do with them, etc
Keep up the good work!

Old Boy's a damn good movie. Think it has one of the longest uncut action sequences ever (the camera merely follows the protagonist from left to right in a corridor whilst he Kicks Ass (tm)) - and all those scene have a, dunno, gritty & "realistic" feel to them. Not any gun-posing or bullet time as such.
Story is, as they said in the podcast, perhaps a bit convoluted. I can't remember what kinda subs I got on the DVD I have (bought it in a second-hand store so dunno) - but at points I had trouble following, especially with the flashbacks when the same characters are portraid by different actors...
But anyway, damn good. Give it a peek people.

Taken as a whole it's definitely a very original movie. I think tonight I'll watch the other two in the sorta-kinda-trilogy. For the curious, those are:
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Been told by the girl who bought them for me that they're not super-directly related. In the same 'world' type of thing. Anyway, will probably mention my thoughts on them on the next podcast if I get to them in a timely fashion. :)

Edited by: TimGascoigne on 25/01/2008 03:05:06 grate episode. The delay is more than made up for in quantity
please read my recommendation below I think you'll like it:
Basically can you do a guide In an upcoming podcast to alliance fleet combat operations! Not a noob guide for people to learn how to align and what following primary means. But something more meaty for us intermediate/advanced players. Involveing the work of the FC, incorporation of covert ops and recon ships in gathering intell, logistics, capital ship support, spines the whole 9 yards that separates small gang fights (which us guys are stuck with) from the gnashing of teeth of superstate alliance warfare.
And if you do this can you please, pretty please, include Crovan in the task. As I think he does a great job in helping with the guids and if you don't include him then I will kindly ask "can I have all of your stuff"

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but check out the first two articles in the series on FCing at EVE-Tribune (www.eve-tribune.com). There are more guides for the podcast in the works. What you're asking for could honestly be its own podcast, easily (no, I don't just mean one episode) .
The next installment to my FCing guide on the Tribune is likely going to cover long range engagements and build on the sniping article from the current issue, focusing on the role of gang leadership and the FC.
I accept ISK donations, and the Spring classes are still being filled!
