"IBDS" means In Before Dark Shikari.
It was based of "In Before The Lock (IBTL)" but because a well known forum user here always used to post very early in threads, people put IBDS in there instead.

This. As for IBDS, i don't know that particular one, but most IB.. ones are of the "In before the ....." or "I beat the ....." variant. Most common here is IBTL, which mean "In Before/I Beat The Lock", which means the replier feels that the thread either was started as, or has reached the point where it no longer complies to the rules or the intent of the forum and expects the thread to be moderated soon, and is using this short post to signal this perception without actually contributing to the thread, thus reducing the risk of fuelling an emotional debate on something that does not belong in that forum.
Often the person posting this reply will have reported the thread to said moderators as well.
Considering that both questions seem to reply more to forum lingo than the game itself, and both deal with acronyms pertaining to forum abuse, i suspect you've been reading some parts of the forum that are best avoided as a new player because they tend to contain the one sided view of the vocal minority and therefore present an rather distorted view of the game as it actually is. I advise you to avoid those forums for now, especially the general discussions (the development related forums are better) and the one pertaining to corporation politics (which is 95% propaganda). |
