Now because of your whines allowing to engage in combat you have people making professions of can-flipping and ore-thieving in the hopes they get to explode your silly whiny ass.
I don't do it for the money, fame or the women, I do it for those sweet sweet logs full of tears and attempts at smack
An equally valid reason, though my point remains valid. The carebears are reaping what they sowed, so to speak. And their tears are ******* delicious.

wow, that's a lot of flames for a simple idea. i never said it was right. the idea is to put a penalty on stealing massive amounts of cargo and very little penalty on stealing small amounts of cargo. the sec loss of peeps going around looting abandond wrecks is quite small compared to several 27k m3 flips.
the unitended side effect is that ore theives would take heavy sec loss too.
i am proposing a solution to a "percieved" problem. many people are upset at can flippers. i don't really care as i have a few corp mates with battleships in system pretty much all the time. the problem with using secure cans is that they must be anchored 5km from any objects. i'm pretty sure a hulk can mine faster than it can fly around store ore in cans.
i see can flippers as annoying bullys who want to pick a fight with weaker opponents. i don't however see anything wrong with the system so there really isn't anything to be done. --- Originally by: Kagura Nikon .......That is why I started an alt to be completely specced in ammar. this would really hurt my buisness plan if it ever went into effect
my plan
Fairy wealth redistribution business is now open for bribes i work just like any other low sec person i can be bribed to leave you alone all it requires is isk mainly if you dont want me taking things just pay me and ill leave your party alone my basic packages are
leave you alone 250k per hour leave your gang alone 500k per hour leave your corp alone 1m per hour leave your alliance alone 1m per hour
if you are interested in more long term rates just multiply the hourly rate by the time period you want full day (full 24 hours from when payment is received) hourly x 20 week (168 hours from when payment is received) hourly x 125 month (31 days no matter what month it is) hourly x 300 permanent safety (life time, i set you as blue and i dont take from blues) hourly x 1500
i will reduse fees for group rates or if you have been reffered by a friend
return loot is 75% of current market value and will be contracted in station

All these players talking about stealing trash should know that at least in the usa it is a crime in many areas to take trash from street cans due to identity theft and stalkers/perves looking for used female items. Times are changing.

Don't see it as flames mate, see it as the only reasonable response from a forum full of pirates. Despite its name, C&P has a VERY high concentration of pirates, along with some merc corps. And both these groups have one thing in common: We deal with danger and loss every time we log in. The nature of our profession is to fight. We've learned that EVE is just as much about loss as it is about gain, if not in fact more. Loss is the driving force in EVE. Its what makes the economy player-driven, not just player-helped or assisted.
As it stands, this is probably the last forum where you can expect any kind of support for mechanics that punish pirates further. There are plenty of things already that make pirating a tough gig - punishment on the rewards themselves seems over the top, not to mention needless.
People may very well be mad at can flippers, but that in the end is their problem to solve, either by using secure cans, or by putting together proper mining ops with some defense.
You see us as bullies, but let me tell you, we teach people a very valuable lesson in security that they don't even HAVE to pay for with their ship. All anyone has to do is just ignore us. Accept the loss, realize why it came about, and they can work on never loosing ore in high-sec again. OR, they can pull out their 5 tech II drones, activate that ebil Hulk tank, and blast us a new one. Hell, they have options, can flippers don't. All we can do is hope they attack, and they indeed are within the range of what we can kill, and that they don't bring in friends.
I'm telling you, being a can flipper or pirate isn't as easy as you see it. In fact, the rules are stacked quite clearly against us. Its a tough job, but someone's got to do it. ----- In EVE - never bring a knife to a knife-fight. |
