Hi I have a cane and want to use it for 0.0 ratting till I can afford my tempest. At the mo I just got 3 rigs installed that were there when I got the ship off the contracts. 1 is a nano pump the other a tank for explosive and one to increase powergrid output. How would you fit it for 0.0 ratting. One thing I noticed is its max targeting range is only 13K is this normal?

i used t2 425's, and cap injected tank with active hardeners against angels. you can take a 3 bs spawn + a couple frigs. not as effective as usin a tempest but it will work in the meantime |

Figured out the range thing! had t warp stabs on for saftey bringing ship bk! lol.

A setup?
Highs:
6 AC, {1 Tractor beam, 1 Salvager} or {2 HMLs}
Mids:
1 MWD, 1 Web, 2 Cap Recharge
Lows
1 MAR, 3-4 hardeners, 1-2 gryos
Drones to flavour.
Something along those lines should be fine, chop and change depending on what your happy with and skills. If you can only lock 13k you need to take the WCS off the ship.

No it's not. Remove stabs and cloaks.
I would fit it up with 2 Medium armor repairers, a full rack of 425mm AC's, mwd, heavy launchers, 2 stabs(note: cane stabs == Gyrostabs not warp core stabs(as would be on a a mammoth)) and 2 harderners. Mids to compensate for what's lacking. For example, web, booster and... sensor booster? (Or a scram and be ready for pvp)

Does kind of depend on what faction you are ratting. But I would start with:
option 1,
6x 425mm autocannon II or best named, salvager, tractorbeam
1x 10mn MWD, 3x cap recharger II
1x MAR II, 3x Active Hardener II, 2x Gyro II
option 2 (use less amo, and you dont have to get so close)
6x 650mm Arti II or best named, salvager, tractorbeam
1x 10mn AB, 3x cap recharger II
1x MAR II, 2x Active Hardener II, 3x Gyro II
