A few questions to my fellow Amarr, who use this ship in missions.
1. Pulses or Beams? Why?
2. 1 or 2 reps? Why? What balance between Hardeners/Heat Sinks/Cap Mods do you use?
3. I would love to use a T2 AB on this ship, slow boating missions is not my thing and if i use Pulses some BSes will be out of range so i like to get close fairly quickly. Is it possible to create an AB+Rep+Guns 23/7 running set-up without cap booster?
4. If you propose set-ups pls avoid Faction/Deadspace/Officer Mods, they are too expensive, the only think i can get is an Amarr Navy armor reps, couse i have some LPs handy.
5. I can use an Abbadon, but i don't want to. I want to fly a CS.
6. I can train for the Nighthawk, but i still need a few long skills to do, thats Cal. Cruiser lvl5 and T2 Missiles, i already have skills for a T2 Active/Passive Shield tank. Is this the better option?
My goal is to eventually use the Loladin/Nightmare/Machariel, but for the next few months i need an alternative to the Abbadon/Apoc/Drake/Raven/Domi, so pls be generous with your ideas on set-ups.
I fly missions for ISK to fuel 0.0 PvP, a Dread and a Carrier, but that doesn't mean i just want to grind them, i enjoy the missions and would like to do them in a fun ship, other wise i would have just used a Raven.

P.S.: I've checked the ship set-up in the sticky, but the treads there are WAY too old.

Beams will have some trouble killing past infared range in level 4's i've found. I kill most bs's in level 4's with multifrequency from 15km in my harb. You can likely fit more dmg mods on your abso since it tanks much better, so you shouldnt have any problems.

i prefer beams cause i can get better range and falloff whit MF crystals
1 rep is enough and i have 3 hs
i use a ab to move about when needed
i use 1 TS rep (same as amarr navy), amarr navy ean, amarr navy thermic adaptive, damage control

Ok, I too used the Absolution as the ISK Fuel for 0.0 PvP. Primarily I would suggest that if you are serious about running missions to make the fastest ISK you can then make sure you train Command Ships to 4/5 minimum! The increase in DPS by training it by one level is fantastic as obviously there is the ROF and Damage bonus. As for fittings, I spent 400M on the best setup for the ship I could, so even deadspace at this level is not too expensive:
== Deadspace == Highs: 6 x T2 Pulses, 1 x Med NOS Meds: 3 x T2 CPR Lows: 1 x Corpum-A MAR, 1 x True Sansha EANM, 2 x Corpum A Hardner, 2 x True Sansha Heatsinks, 1 x Plate (800mm iirc) Rigs: No idea

This was with WU 5 and AWU level 4 - however I think that the paladin is better for missioning so my abso is currently retired /Delphi

No. Missioning abso sux without one.
Well, it's possible actually. Using 3 or 4 slots for cap modules. But why anyone would prefer this crap over a single capbooster? ---

I recently switched to an Absol from an Astarte for missions, using a cheap (non-faction) fitting which gets the job done nicely, and with a minimum of fuss:
High 6 heavy modulated energy beams (14 days until t2, and it still does missions more efficiently than my Astarte) tractor beam Mid AB II 2 cap recharger II Low 2 MAR II 2 heat sink II some combination of DCU II, EANM II, active hardeners, depending on the mission
2 CCC rigs
It's zippy, for a CS (almost 500 m/s, for me, with perfect speed skills and mild speed hardwirings), and does nice damage out to about 60km. I carry Amarr navy MF and UV crystals, plus plain radios, and mostly run around in UV range. Once I can fit t2 beams, I imagine things will only get better.
I do not fit a cap booster, mainly because I don't want to worry about carrying charges. The way it is set up now, I can permarun the guns, AB and 1 rep, and very nearly permarun the guns and 2 reps if I'm using UV crystals. Huge fun.

Is the tank enough for lvl4's, I will be switching the 3 Hardeners/EANM around depending on missions, this is the Angel's mission tank.
Also I'll be training some gunnery skills to lvl4 as Surgical Strike and Pulse Spec skills are @lvl3 atm, so there is a bigger DPS potential there, if i also add some Damage implants.

Try the following.... it never caps out and allowed me to get 1m lp with guardian angels. also at the time i had commandships V and heavy beam spec V.
Heavy Beam Laser II, Multifrequency M x6 ( use faction or t2 crystals ) Cloak if low sec or 0.0
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Stasis Webifier II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II x2 Energized Thermic Membrane II 'Meditation' Medium Armor Repairer I x2 ( worth the isk and bang for buck ) Capacitor Power Relay II x2
Auxiliary Nano Pump I x2
and 5 light racial drones to help -
At last the Gallente can finally lay claim to saying... "my DICtor" is bigger than yours.

hey john grimm
this time I fly an Abso too for lvl 4 missions... i can say that this fitting you posted doesn't have a tank that can will survive long enough in a few missions.
i often tank with 4 hardener (2 for each damage that is dealt in the mission) 1 MAR (yeah i use Centum A-Type Repairer 538,2 every 8,55 sec with 1 Auxiliary Nano Pump I)... this is enough for the most lvl 4... i can run every mod on my Abso while using 1 CPR in lows instead of 1 Heat Sink!
Try this fitting:
6x Heavy Pulse II or Heavy Modulated Pulse Energy Beam with Amarr Navy Multi
1 AB II (or Domination AB if you can afford it) 2 Cap Recharger II
1 MAR II (or the best you can afford, maybe Amarr Navy or Deadspace) 2x Racial Hardner 1st Type of Damage 2x Racial Hardner 2nd Type of Damage 1x CPR II or Beta 1x Heat Sink II or EANM II
Rigs:
Auxiliary Nano Pump I Capacitor Control Circuit I
if you cange the Aux Pump into a 2nd CCC you are able to change the CPR II with a 2nd Heat Sink, but your tank sucks then... your decision
