Pirate has pod webbed and scrammed, negotiating a price when pod's corp mates warp in? Negotiations get heated but actual battle is impossible as anyone movez and the pod gets it, etc etc etc... Anyone have any stories like this... I imagine it could happen, and it would make for a kick@zz story?
And everybody says speed is minmatar's "thing". Minmatar can tank, gank, alpha, snipe, do ew(web), nano. What isnt "minmatar's thing"?

Story of my life. We ransom people all the time and this **** happens.

Yeah we ransom pods fairly often and how it's supposed to go down it that the tackler tackles the pod and our negotiator handles the ransom. Anyways we have some trigger happy pilots not naming anyone (surfin) that lock and pop the pods in the middle of negs. Anyways there's been some funny things said to him over vent because of this.

we had that just yesterday, our gang of about 30 in small ships against a bob gang of about 45 in small ships on a low sec gate. no one wanted to fire first cause we both needed gate guns to win

back when i was 1 month old, flying my vexor thru o.o, had a phoon and a crow catch up to me and we all just sat on the gate for like ten minutes waiting for someone to agress, i figured if they shot me I'd be able to jump out and get away. the phoon lined up for a bump and I kept the gate between me and him so i couldn't get bumped.
don't know why i didn't just warp away to a ss or something but i was a noob, i stopped my ship let the phoon line up, saw him coming in and just as he is about to bump me i jump and run to the next gate, the crow catches up to me and so we sit on that gate for a while... ect. ect. this contenued for around five jumps till I realized i could drop a bookmark in warp and warp back to it and get away from these scary guys.
was a lot of lol's in local when i finally got away. was crazy tho, never knowing what was on the other side of the gate.
In hindsight if they had the phoon agress me and the crow jump thru they probably would have popped me fairly easily but hey... i lived to fight another day :))

Sadly, I don't get a whole lot of standoffs... Most people don't hesitate to fire on a blinky red too often.

I was at a gate today in my Curse- I'm flashy red. I land there, and then a Prophecy lands there. I know I can't take him out before both him AND the gate guns kill me if I aggro and get GCC, so I wait for him to shoot. We sit there for about 45 seconds; he activates a shield hardener of some kind. I think to myself, "Shield-tanked Prophecy?" I activate mine and I get out of web range in case he decides to engage, we sit there for another two minutes. Right when I decide to say "Screw it" and engage, he warps off.
Damnit. :)

ive had this happen to me before, im sitting outside of station and a celestis undocks (a bit of a newb, 1 month or so) im flashy, and hes not.. we sit and wait for like 10 minutes both eyeing each other.. (im in my super awesome tank/gank arbitrator of doom btw) and finally he attacks.. woops.. tracking disruptor + NOS + web/scram = dead celestis  
this out of all will remain, they have lived and have tossed; so much of the game will be gain, though the gold and the dice have been lost. |
