I've seen what seems to be some players who have one character who is a pirate and another that is an anti-pirate, a few of these I've observed have sagely named their characters similarly and if you watch local one disappears and the other appears moments later. What are the sentiments on this among the two communities? Is this common and accepted, having a player that plays pirate and then turns around and blows up his fellow pirates, maybe even his corpmates?
Granted people are free to do as they like and I'd expect pirates to have alts for scouting and other activities or "regular" players to have pirate alts for going out and finding a bit of PVP & plunder. However a pirate and anti-pirate seems to me like playing with fire and risking both characters being KOS to two heavily armed parts of the community, am I wrong?

You are ********. The reasoning for this is so one can just pirate and the other can simply go into empire and wreack havoc on the corp that is an anti-pirate corp!! DUH!!

are you sure they arent characters like asdfae and adfsea who are really just running courier missions?
or are we talking spies (although if similarly named i think that would make it total failsauce but what do i know)

Well if a newbie can spot these people rather easily don't you think experienced players would notice too? Wreak havoc on an anti-pirate corp, I'd think they'd be on the look out for just such a ploy by pirates. If not they probably aren't very good at their chosen profession and deserve what they get don't ya think?

They may be spies but having both characters in the same system and switching between the two in a manner that reveals that they are on the same account (not to mention the 'tards with similar names) just doesn't seem too smart to me. I was mainly curious about how both communities felt about a player that is preying on both groups and not in the capacity of a spy but more a double agent working for themselves.

this is basically true, although there is a more polite way of saying it
many people have more than one account (its shocking, i know).
if one is a blinky red, no good for nothing, pirate-y type, most will have at least one other that isnt.
that char (if it does anything other than shop for the pirate) will only shoot at war targets or blinky pirates, so not to lose sec status. some might even belong to so called anti-pirate corps.
but many ani-pirates are just pirates conserned with their sec status...ahem

I get the whole 2 account and one character with good sec status and one with bad thing, the whole alter ego thing, that's pretty obvious even to a newbie. So what you're saying is its not a big deal as far as the pirate and anti-pirate communities are concerned if a player hunts both sides, and that the anti-pirates are just pirates who don't want the blinky red security status so they just blow up the blinky red players. Gotcha.
Just trying to understand the community's sentiments on certain behaviors and see what I may or may not be able to get away with.

Runs a cybering ring out of Jita?
TBH I was really wondering if there was ISKies making potential on making their "secret identities known" or rather shall we say "hush money" to be made to keep their characters from being KOS to two well armed groups. Ah well, I shall have to look for some easy ISK elsewhere.
