Hi guys, would be nice to talk a bit about one of your favorite ships, the Manticore.
So to launch that thread, I have some questions, so pick the one that fit you most and give us some insights...
1. What kind of solo PVP is conceivable when you fly a Manti?
2. Do you pirate with your Manti? And if yes, how? Alone, in a gang...?
3. Is there some Manti gangs over there who can share with us their experience?
4. What is the best/more exciting fight you had with your Manti, what happened, and what was your setup/config?

Manticores are IMO situational... I'd go alone if I'd have to... targeting noobish cruisers and smaller. Sometimes chasing them around like I was flying an Interceptor - Warp Disruptor strikes fear in most new pilots...
A few friends and timing is nice - like sitting around a bonfire chatting and waiting for a good target.

Once you have a rapier and a falcon, does it really matter what the other ships are? You could use cloaked thoraxes really and they'd still die pretty hard.

Killing shuttles, industrials and some T1 frigates. Some mining barges may be valid targets, as long as they don't bother using drones.

No, because it doesn't work. Piracy requires hunting a target, and stealth bombers are horrible for any roaming gang. And you can't gatecamp with one, because the sentries will insta-pop you. Solo piracy is impossible because a bomber in scramble range is a dead bomber.

Sell Manticores, buy force recons. Experience says bombers suck in 95% of the situations you will find yourself in, and force recons do the stealth thing far better in every way.

Hm. I think I killed a hauler once. It was amusing because the guy knew I was there, and he still came back to the belt to die. Otherwise, every other target I have fought in a bomber has just warped off before the missiles hit.

It was in a Purifier, but the best fight still stands; uncloaking 60km away from a hostile 50-man fleet who are busy pummeling a few carriers into dust, locking a Manticore, and one-volleying it.
And getting away with it.
Twice.
I'd link to killboards but that's illegal 
Anyway, lesson learned: The most expensive ship that's a near-guaranteed one-volley-target, is another bomber.

Lol, did something like that myself, only it was a 15 man gang chilling at a planet doing nothing. I thought it was pretty damn funny 1 vollying thier bomber and a ceptor.

Essentially they are useless solo in alot of situations, But the one thing I use mine for which gives me endless pleasure, Is harrassing hostile gatecamps in 0.0 
Couple days back, sitting 120km off the gate that was being camped, Started by killing there shiny ogre II ( which upset them no end ) an ares who decided to MWD in a straight line towards me ^^, and the manticore they sent in to kill me ( god bless sensor damps )
They are lots of fun, but have a limited use.

I liked harassing low sec mining ops back when low sec wasnt a pirate infested hell. find an op.. warp in and cloak. tell them to pay 25mil or I would wreck there op.. no matter how many defenders they had. if they refuse.. pop the ore cans. was fun if i didnt have anyone to help kill them
