Is it worth getting the miming foreman skill etc
What skills do i need to max out my mining ????

Ore processing skills to IV
Mining foreman only works when in a fleet and in a command position, so it's no use solo. There are also some implants that help mining, the best need cybernetics V.

Also Refining V & Refinery Efficiency V (when combined with Ore Processing IV that you need to use the best crystals anyways) and standings of 6.5 or better with a corp, you'll get perfect refining of your ore.

Does the mining foreman work if one setups a fleet alone? Or is it like that, that every1 in fleet except you get the bonus from it?

I have Refining V, Refinery Efficiency II, and Ore Processing III (pyroxeres in my case) and I don't have anything lost in the refinery. I just need to get my standing up so my corp will stop taking stuff.

The mining foreman skill bonus only applies when there is more than one person in the fleet.

Unless you are going to use mining crystals, don't bother getting your ore processing skills to 5. Just one point will give you 0 waste if you have Processing Efficiency trained.
Also, I would not bother with mining drones if you are flying any of the ORE ships. They pretty much fill your entire cargo area with one cycle and you are much better off having drones protecting you instead of mining for you.

I can absoloutely vouch for this 100%
I used Mining drones ONLY until 1 day a "Dire Guiristas Invader" had me scrammed in my Hulk
Thank God he had no BS support there and i was able to tank the cruisers then get out with help
Now i have Mining drones but also some nice Hobgoblins to cream the frig rats if necessary

The secret to mining is in reading Haladas complete mining guide in the starbase forum. It tells you all you want to know and more.
Personally, i just trained my yield skills up to a level where my strips can fill the cargohold of my hulk in two cycles. Thats perfection for me.
