I will have my learning skills trained to lvl 3 by tonight. I have the ones I started with trained to lvl 3 and I bought the Empathy and Instant recall. They are trained to lvl 3. All of the other learning skills are still red boxes. How do I get those, so I can buy and train them? The empathy one is for Charisma. I dont plan on being a merchant and such, so would it be a waste of time to train or should I go for it anyway?
Thanks in advance

If you check the info on those red skills you'll find that they are the advanced skills, and that they require the standard skill at lvl 4 before you can train them.

Edited by: Jameroz on 24/01/2008 00:02:03 Red cross means you don't have requirements to train the skill. For the advanced learning skills you need to learn the level 4 of the basic ones. You can right click to look the info, req. skills section will show what skill you need to have.
If you have green tick it means you can train the skill ... so you'll have to buy it from market, right click the skill book and select train skill.
You should train atleast lvl 3 on Empathy anyway... If you plan on training merchant skills, social skills (agent missions) or leadership skills (gang bonuses) you'll want to have charisma. There are also few oddball skills that use it.

I would highly recommend downloading EveMon and planning out your skills in there as it will show you what the reqs are and even suggest a better order for them to save time :)

Thank you all very much! So i take it to mean that all the skills I have trained to lvl 3 are the basics then. Should I train the basics to 5 first or just to 4 and then train the advanced to 4 then worry about all 5's? I will look at this evemon. thank you

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 24/01/2008 00:33:40 For now, I'd leave the basic skills at lvl 3 and just train some needed/fun/interesting skills till you have settled into something you're willing to do for a couple of days. So train up your mining/fighting/whatever skills and learn the game a bit.
The advanced skills cost quite a bit (4.5 mil each iirc) so take your time. Once you can pay for them and are willing to invest the time get the basic ones to lvl 4 and then the advanced ones to lvl 3. You're best off doing the int/mem ones first and later on the perc/will since int and mem influence your learning skills training time.

well the most efficent way is usually learn basics to 4 advanced to 3 and then just train w/e.
