Maybe better re-read the thread ;) Most "slightly bitter comments" from us here where in a completely other direction and more "amused" about that fitting and how you catched it ^^
What retreat? Did i miss something ? Or do you mean settling 20 jumps nearer to our opponents is a retreat lol?

Wow seems you got a spy into a very high position in our alliance. No other way to explain how you get informations that our homebase was p-v when even our members didnt knew that it was there 
But maybe im wrong too and all the "Insurgency" Sov the map is showing in Branch is from someone else and its just a display bug...
WOW... 17 !!! carriers, 4 !! Dreads... I know branch has sometimes huge lag, but i didnt realized yet that its so huge that killmails take weeks to arrive... Or whys your KB only showing 4 carriers and 3 dreads?

Let's run through some facts shall we?
Every alliance has people in who smack in local sometimes. Most people prefer it they don't although everyone LOVES it when they shoot someone who's been running their mouth off in local and or forums.
Every alliance has pilots who don't post their losses. We actually take feeds from our enemies killboards to try and minimise this. I'm not sure if we'll keep doing this because we've got someone posting fake mails and silly comments on our kb atm.
Every alliance has gangs that nano and cloak.
I could accuse ME of station hugging and only engaging insrg when they're in a gang with 3 other alliances. It would be daft. You engage when you want to, just as we do. We can all sit and make daft judgement calls about our various corps/alliances capabilities and characteristics. Let's try and avoid that. I have zero control over what anyone in insrg says - but if people ignore the smack and just mentions the facts it will go away. That however is going to require that pilots on both sides exercise a little restraint and confine themselves to saying things that aren't smacky.
I'm pretty sure I got smacked in EOY last night - there are times when being English with our absolutely atrocious ability to learn other languages helps us turn the other cheek :)
As for this conflict. We're here for fights mate. We choose when we fight and we choose when we run - just like EVERY other alliance out there. Hopefully we'll get less lag next time we meet and we can have some good honest shooting. I hope to gank you in space soon - I'm sure that feeling is reciprocated.
