I need some help.
I'm a fan of the Warhammer 40K games, and I've been looking for a while for some novels about it yet the only thing I've found is a quiz book and rule books for the board game.
Somebody must know where to get them if they're even out there. Thing to consider though is that I'm Dutch so suppliers would have preference in this order : Holland > Europe > Rest of world.
Thanks

Depending on where in the netherlands you are, there are a couple of stores you could visit.
Official Games Workshop stores are in Amsterdam Rotterdam Den Haag
If those are to far out of the way, check here Those are all official retailers, the stores marked as Elite are almost guaranteed to have a supply of warhammer and 40k novels and can order any you like. Partnership stores probably have them too.

Thnx for the help.
I wasn't expecting some ground breaking novels that's for sure but just books that'll keep me entertained I like the action so that'll be great.
Thnx for the link on those stores! I'm nowhere near the 3 big cities but one of those stores is only 30 min drive from me so that's perfect.

Are you serious? You could walk across the Netherlands in about a day. Is it really that hard to hop on a bike and peddle there and back?
I can kind of get why people in Bath don't want to go to York for something, but across the Netherlands? Sheesh. Southern pansies.

I'm serious, the distances are smaller than in the UK, granted, but still fairly long. I'd challenge you to walk from Den Helder or Groningen in the north to Maastricht in the south. Its only about 250 miles. Walking from say Amsterdam to Arnhem, well i wouldn't want to do that in a day either, you're still looking at 120 miles or so.

Where I'm from, the closest city is about 2 hours away, by car. Southern pansies, I tell you.

The Netherlands is a small country, distances that span most of the country may appear larger than they are. Its just relative.

The Space Wolf Omnibus by William King is a good set for cheap, the follow up by a different author is not worth it though. -=-=-

Edited by: Yarrick on 24/01/2008 15:00:57 Personally I would recommend the Inquisitor Eisenhorn novels by Dan Abnett, an excellent series that delves deep into the mythos of the Inquisition and the dark deeds they get upto as well as the conspiracies they unconver in the name of the Emperor!! _____________________________________________

My personal favorites:
The Ghaunt's Ghosts Series by Dan Abnett, pure awesome
The Horus Heresy series
The Grey Knights series
The Eisenhorn and Ravenor series are both awesome (read Eisenhorn first)
The Space Wolf books are great. While the 4th was "meh" the omnibus (first three) were amazing
The Ultramarines omnibus is also very good.

This. I have all the books he listed, and I should tell you to read eisenhorn first, or if you are looking for something more funny, read the ciaphas cain novels. They're awesome.

I have to read those as well. I'm currently reading "Let the Galaxy Burn" (short stories for those who don't know), and then I have to get through the Soul Drinkers omnibus and the additional book. Once I finish these I'm going to try to get those, I've heard good things.
And I have to emphasize again, the Eisenhorn books were pure win. I don't want to ruin anything but just watching how the characters develop from book 1 to 3 is just pure genius.

You wont be disappointed by the Horus Heresy novels. Just remember that every book was written by a different author so it will have a different feel to it. The first 3 are pretty awesome. The last was....eh. Waiting on the final.
The Eisenhorn Trilogy is really good stuff. Followed up by the Ravenor series. Thats alot of Inquisition that no one expects.
The Gaunts Ghosts series is really good and you'll be moved when certain main characters die. Abnett likes to throw in details that most big novels omit about combat actions that involve unknown people. Its a real treat.
The first four books of the Space Wolf series are also really good. Word of caution though. William King did not write that last book "Sons of Fenris" which is an utter piece of crap and is nothing like the previous stories. Avoid at all costs.
I'm not a big fan of the Soul Drinkers or Cain series. Just not my type of writing style especially when everything is pure luck or so well structured that they have to win (how often is Cain going to "accidently" survive?!).
There are a number of really good single books in the Warhammer 40k series. There are also alot of really bad ones. Sometimes its a crap shoot unless you're really into the trashy style of sci-fi.
