I have noticed over the last few weeks that more and more threads are cropping up complaining about specifics in the different Localized clients and I would like to clarify what to do with them.
First of all, this forum is monitored by the Localization Bughunters but they cannot spend their time transforming what turns into 10 page discussions into defects for our translators to work on. What needs to happen is that you file a Bug Report which our team can then investigate and send on to the translators.
This forum should be used to discuss issues with other players, and possible changes that could be made. But when you come to a consensus, you need to file it in a bug report.
And here's how it's done:
To file a Bug Report click https://bugs.eve-online.com/newbugreport.asp or simply click on the "Bug Reporting" link under Eve Insider to the left.
Once you have clicked the link, type your title; it should be concise and to the point, state the language of the client the bug is in followed by the issue you are having. eg. "Russian - Journal tabs are incorrectly named"
Select "Localization" from the Category drop down menu.
Chose Singularity from the server drop down menu, or if the client is on Tranquility chose that.
Type the description of the problem, suggest alternatives and state why you think these alternatives are better. The more information you give us here, the easier it is to make the decision as to whether this is a genuine issue, something we've already fixed but is not released, or whether the issue is with personal preference.
Reproduction steps are useful only if the issue you are discribing is only available in certain circumstances, for instance if the issue is with a popup window that is incorrectly translated, it is useful for you to tell us how to get this popup window. If the issue is with an item description however, you only need to name the item.
Screenshots are very helpful to us, if for whatever reason there is some misunderstanding with the description, title or reproduction steps in your Bug Report, the screenshot will show us exactly what you think is wrong.
I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to file Bug Reports. 10 or 20 page long threads about the "Bad Translations" is simply unworkable, If you believe there is an issue with the quality of a specific translation, file it in a bug report where we can track, fix and implement it.
