Originally by: Janna Cyris At the moment I'm playing two accounts. I've heard form corpmates that they have as many as eight. So I'm looking at that 42,000 concurrent user mark and suspecting that we're still at 10k-20k players it's just that most people have upgraded to multiple accounts. That being said:
How many of you run multiple concurrent accounts or have multiple subscriptions?
I found the need for a second account to scout for myself in lowsec/0.0 the driving factor. Also I hear it's common to have a second account for salvaging/looting for mission runners. And finally I understand many users mine with one character and haul with an alt. On the one hand I'm happy that EVE is getting more money from all this, but on the other hand I can see how this also generates a heavier server load and decreases the quality of gameplay.
Then again, I sometimes find myself wondering if there is something wrong with EVE because it encourages people to have multiple accounts?

I don't think this is a rant, and I don't think there is anything wrong with EVE because people can have more than one account.
I mean, you can have 2 WoW accounts if you want, but people don't because it's possible to "train" (*cough* grind *cough*) as many characters as you want.
I do however (as the above may have indicated) beleive that EVE has somewhat tripped up in that you can only train 1 skill at a time per account. This could be taken 2 ways.
The first: Skills in EVE train in "real-tim", so people could have 1-2 chars all training their abilities to "uber" levels while they fart around on their main.
And the second: CCP are greedy buggers who won't let you have more than one character (effectively anyway, no point in having someone sitting there not skilling) at a time so you have to pay more each month to enjoy mining, trading and PvP all at the same time.
Personally it doesn't worry me, because I couldn't be bothered with 2 characters. --------------------------- ---------------------------
