As it was, I decided to do a bit of trading. Ok.. yea.
Not too bad, made 150 mill in a couple of days. I could do better mission running by far. But hey, its easy work, and I've been playing Freelancer.
So anyways, me and some guy are doing the 0.01 isk war. Yay. Except, I forgot the decimal point.
998 items... 998 items that I wanted to purchase for 30,000.01 isk for.
998 items, 998 items that I bought out almost the entire region at 3,000,001.

And that boys and girls is why you cap the isk in your operating account. When mine hits 2bil , I transfer it down to 1.

Yeah, I find this to be true at the lower levels. But why be exclusive? I have a bunch of t2 gear and frigates and named t1 goods on the market, then I go out and run level 3 missions, loot and salvage, and while I'm doing so, I get nice 10mil sales to fatten my wallet =D Plus, running missions gets you named t1 stuff that you can sell for really good profits. I got a 720mm 'Scout' Artillery Cannon off a level 3, sold for 8mil.

If you are updating, use mouse wheel to change price by 0.01s. You dont have to type entire number.

Hmm... I thought CCP implemented the error box, when you were trying to modify your orders higher or lower than 50% of the regional average. I, at least, always get the confirmation dialog.
I'm sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose 600m because of a typo.

Edited by: Yiasa on 25/01/2008 15:23:47 I once had the same screwup with a sell order placed 50.000 t2 components at 1.800.000 isk each instead of 18.000,00 isk each, hehe which resulted in a broker fee of a whopping 550m isk, but gm's we're so friendly to reimburse that, since then I have a transaction from eve central bank in my transaction log =).

Hm thats weird. I did exactly same mistake (Promethium sell order with extra 000) about year ago and GM told me they can't reimburse me. Looks like I need to keep trying to get better GM next time.

Just roll the mouse wheel for auto 0.1 increments. You could create a corp then use the corp wallet and while engaged in recreational incrementing, move most of the money into your own pocket or another division.

Yeah, that's one reason why I don't often bother with 0.1 undercutting, oten using a larger increment (with less chance of suddenly tacking on two extra digits to the price)
Remember to always give a quick glance at the little red/green above/below regional value indicator for a sanity check.
Sure, mistakes happen when we're tired, but hey, that's life. Plenty of mission runners have lost CNR's when they doze off, and lots of PvP'ers have woken up after a gatecamp to discover themselves in a new clone.
