I've been considering writing up a website that will allow corps and alliances to run their own IGB-only website. The layout would be very much similar to that used by solutions such as PHPNuke.
Some features I have drafted:
- Setup and monthly are free for corps with <10 members.
- Hand-made forums
- Public forums that everybody can access from the IGB
- Comms officers would be able to add/remove items from various pages
- Comms officers would be able to modify the layout ie. add/remove tabs
- Rich authentication system
I don't want to write up something that nobody will consider useful, so I'm looking for input. Would somebody consider signing up for this?

You will have lots of fun making the IGB browser render your pages correctly. Its specially hateful of tables.
You'd prob get more response out of a API based OOG forums system.

The layout itself would be very simple. Instead of featuring "sidebars" and such used by phpnuke it will use tabs of sorts on the top of the page. The intent is to minimize the use of tables, if not at all. I have written many IGB solutions in the past so I have a general idea of what works and what doesnt.

What I have done is create an /igb/ folder where if you visit my site in game the header directs you to the /igb/ folder where an igb compatible site is located. Then I have pages that allow anyone, members only etc etc by header information. On those pages I can echo forum posts, news items by database ID. I can even restrict pages using header info for members only and echo members only forum posts on those pages. At present time this is only for viewing but being able to post replies would not be very hard to pull off at all. One other option for you is to integrate evebb into an igb compatible site for your use. There are many ways to approach it. There is also a phpbb2 mod that makes your ogb phpbb2 site igb compatible. -x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- Cypher Technologies We offer in game compatible website design and web hosting. I'm currently working on something like that on Sourceforge. There are still a couple of things missing but It shouldn't be much longer (maybe one more week).
What I have is: * Forum (no subforums yet) * Article System (write static pages, mark them public or private) * Basic user system (login/logout, change password)
I only have to complete a couple of things before I consider it ready for alpha: * Flesh out the registration system * Add a menu editor to the backend.
There's lots of other stuff I'm planning to incorporate but that comes later... ---------------------------------------------- The glass is neither half full nor half empty. It's just twice as big as it need to be... |

sounds interesting....
Do you have an Eve mailing list for announcements related to this project?
You have to fall in order to get back up. |
