To begin, I have allready filed a reimbursement petition, and I don't have a clue if this is a bug or not to file.
I was doing a L4 mission in my Raven, can't remember the name of the mission but it was a 5 parter about a rouge Gallente colony in Caldari space - so pew pew with the Gallente Navy. Anyway, I am tanking them but my tank is going to go in around a miniute so I start to warp out.
Suddenly my PC froze and my moniter has a blank black screen. Mashing Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing, Ctrl+Q and Alt+f4 do the same, so I pull the plug. Now I know my graphics card is up to date, I reinstalled my OS 5 day's ago and installed all the latest patches I could lay my hands on, the only new thing was Eve which had just been installed from a fresh dowload.
I log back in, and I just look blankly at my pod rotating mockingly, I filed a reimbursement petition. Is this a known bug? Something I should try and recreate (which will be pretty damned hard as I have a conspicuous lack of Mission running ship to hand) or is it being worked on?
Thanks in advance.

Hate to break this to you, but while this has indeed all the markings of a bug, the bug is most definetely in the hard or software that does the actual displaying of your graphics or playbac of sound. Meaning it is either in DirectX, your display drivers, sound card drivers (just because they are up to date doesn't mean they can't be bugged) or a glitch with your display or sound card. I have seen the same issue happen in a variety of other games. One moment you are playing happily, the next all action freezes and sometimes you even get a cold reset. Congratulations, your hardware borked out.
Because as far as EVE is concerned, you simply went linkdead, i wouldn't put up too many hopes in getting your ship reimbursed. I could be wrong of course, but you better expect the worst so you won't be disappointed when you get a reply from the GM.

Probably not a bug with EVE. It's most likely an issue with your PC, probably overheating of your CPU/GPU and/or a bad driver. EVE is very stressful on your PC, especially in missions/fleets with lots of ships, explosions, etc.

My client also likes to crash, when in the middle of a fight. No idea why... as the client work normally when just flying or marketing etc...
I lost my faction fitted stealth bomber that way. (ran in to blue screen of death in the middle of PvP)

It can always be worth bug reporting. Even if Eve is not the issue, it surrounds eve. However, a petition would be entirely worthless.
