I just wonder what the heck this means? Ive tried to enjoy EVE, but Im coming to the end of my free month and am not having a good enough time to justify spending the monthly fee, so I went to cancel my account yesterday.
I checked a few minutes ago, and it STILL says "Cancellation Pending", as my account runs out on the 28th, I want to be sure they dont charge me, how long will it take to actually CANCEL my account?!?

Edited by: Atar on 25/03/2004 15:33:09 You will not be charged. The 28th date means that is the day when your account will "expire". Had you chosen to stay thats when they would charge you. Being that you cancelled thats when you will not have access to Eve hence your account is "expired". But no charge will take place. Don't worry about it.

Then why the hell dont they just have "Cancelled" like every other MMO Ive played, it would cause a lot less confusion. Just seems a bit daft to put something like "Cancellation Pending", to me that says that my account isnt cancelled yet, and theres no indication when it will stop being "pending". |

it's pending because you have paid-up until the th28 (or that's the end of your free month), and thus can still play until then. After that you will no longer be able to play as your account will have expired (ie no longer be able to log in) and you will have paid nothing. No harm, no foul.
However, it also gives you the oppertunity to 'cancel the cancelation' and continue playing, if you change your mind and decide EVE is infact for you after all.
All-in-all a very clear, and fair system.

Yea, your account will be cancelled then and you won't pay, but I understand your confusion. I love this game, but the support and communication for players is one of the worst I've seen in any game. Seriously, there needs to be a phone number you can can to cancel your account.

You won't get charged, you pay yourself.
Which I just did, and found it cost me ú4 more than last month, and that they shaved off the 2 days I still had left and had paid for.

ú12 a month is just too much.
