Most genuine newbies that have been ganked usually open a conversation, most of them don't talk smack. They are mostly perplexed over the speed they got toasted with. They usually come in a tristan and are actually exploring 0.0 (Something that the carebear never does)
I usually send them 400k and explain the reason why he was fragged. The reasom is that there is no reason. Many of them thinks it's cool and a lot of them actually sends the isk back. They also state, correctly, that it's a game and they knew what they were doing.
Most say thanks and buy themselves a new frigate and update their clone.
Keep on flaming, lamers.

Skillz,
That made me go "aaaaaahhhhhh" and all fuzzy-warm inside.
Quite possibly some of the people you gank now will turn into supreme pvp-masters.

Hey how about a new idea? Why not just not shoot everything that comes in front of your face?
Oh I forgot they might be a spy.

PvP isen't only fun, it's inevitable and it's the core of the game. Yes, some of them will of naturally be good PvP:ers, miners, builders or whatever they want to do. Lest they quit from boredom.

Personally I dont belive it, infact I think that sec status you got skillz is totally bogus as well.. And why would you term yourself a pirate if you send them isk?? Not very pirate like (bad business giving money away) if your supposedly a uber pirate then you spend alot of time killing, when do you have time to make money to pay the noobs you kill? I mean think about it lets say you kill 4 noobs in a day thats 1.6 mil not a whole lot but if you do it all the time it can add up and become very non-cost efficient.
Thats just my 2-isk, I could be entirely wrong who knows.. I have just never heard much about your "pirating" other then the forum hounding you do.

We only ransom BS and 400k is nothing. It's just chump change.
We ransomed a scorp in MHC-R3 for 25M, he got isk from his CEO and payed, after that, he continued deeper into Syndicate.
We don't get all that much genuine newbies in level III frigates neither, perhaps 2 per week.

Did you post this to be called a carebear?
And remember if you're in 0.0 and not top of the foodchain you might get eaten as well.

If Skillz does not do it, then someone else will, and at least he is telling them why. Possibly a good idea for the game would be for all new characters to get a warning the first time they cross in to 0.4 space and then 0.0 space, detailing just what sort of risk they are taking. --

Skillz, fine that you do it, I've tried not to shoot at new players at all. But what point is it to start a thread about it? Do you want the "I'm a good boy award"?

No, I just wanted to say that newbies are not carebears. Some of them are of course but all anti-PvP people likes to imply that they are 98% of the playerbase when they infact are 2%.

Percy you do receive a warning as soo as you go to jump into 0.4 but everyone clicks Do not show again and never see's it again. So they do get one to answer your thingy there

BTw I think podding anyone is just a bit far gone. Ship destructs yes. Podding podds is just a bit beyond the pale.

Erm, you do get a message when you enter 0.4 space or lower. It basically tells you concord won't be around to help you should (well, i mean when) some nasty pirate show up and blow you into a gazillion pieces.
Actually, putting that message there probably encourages more than it discourages. ====================================

Well Sally, I'd rather be known for anything other than you are.
That's ganking in 1.0 and getting banned for it. After that, you self-destruct a megathron as 'protest' so that means, 1 - 0 to CCP

Bah it's a game some people will not admit to themselves that it is, and that we are all out to have some fun as we/I would in Unreal or Quake3 etc etc, if Im gunna destroy a ship meaning she/he did not pay the ransom then I am going to pod, why only go half a$$ if ya gunna do it do it all the way. (speeling is bad, drank too much) Besides biomass makes such good trophies for my study.
