Ammatar Trade Syndicate

Please Excuse the semi-OOC nature of this post, but with recent changes in Derelik, and some of the newer ATS members being active in this forum, I felt it would be prudent for ATS to formally introduce it self in an area it usually remains rather quiet. That said, on with the introductions а
The Ammatar trade Syndicate does not represent anyone of the four major Empires, nor does it necessarily represent the Ammatar Mandate. Members of the organization are from every empire, they have, for reasons of their own, chosen to find their own way and live instead in Derelik. The Syndicate has no official political stance, nor does it require one. If the Trade Syndicate has any political goal, it is to set Derelik free to follow its own path with out the meddling of any of the four major Empires, matching the attitudes of its membership. The Syndicate leadership realizes this is not likely to happen any time soon, and remains quiet on most political matters, and instead works to improve the economic foundations of the region, and in so doing, create the conditions for progress.
The following excerpt from Eve-Online back story sets the stage for ATS,
Originally by: Eve Chronicles
Since its inauguration San Matar has been in a constant struggle with the Minmatar Republic. Both states have expanded considerably in the last decades and now they border on each other in numerous places. The Republic, backed by the Gallente Federation, had the upper hand for awhile, forcing the Amarr Empire to repeatedly come to the aid of their allies, but in recent years the tables have been turning and the Ammatars have managed to set up military installations and space stations right under the nose of the Republic. Many have speculated from where the Ammatars are getting support for these conquests, as the Amarr Empire has traditionally only been willing to aid the Ammatars when theyЖre under direct threat. Something that started out as a wild speculation seems to be turning into a fact: that the Caldari State, or at least one of its Corporations is funding the Ammatars in their effort. As the region separating the two feuding Minmatar states is very rich in minerals, the Caldari seem willing to go to any length in order to secure some of these resources for themselves. In fact, recently surfaced documents show that the Caldari were negotiating with the Amarr Empire for mineral rights within Minmatar space at the time the Minmatars rebelled. Furthermore, sources within the Republic say that the Caldari have repeatedly approached them wishing to buy mineral rights, something the Republic has always refused because they dream of exploiting them themselves. These tidbits seem to indicate that the Caldari, in a desperate bid to get their hand on the rich mineral deposits, have resorted to secret support of one side in exchange for mineral rights in the areas conquered or claimed. The Caldari vehemently deny these speculations, but the matter seems on the brink of escalating into a major confrontation between the Minmatar Republic and the Gallente Federation on the one hand, and the Ammatars and the Caldari on the other.

The Ammatar Trade Syndicate is an off shoot of one such covert effort by the Caldari. Conflicts of interest arose among the agents set to the task, some saw the effort as a lost cause and returned to Caldari State, yet some remained and became independent of the State, creating a new home for them selves. The Ammatar Trade Syndicate is the organization they created and Derelik is their adopted home.
True to its roots, the Trade Syndicate is primarily concerned with business, be it in the open, or in the shadows. As such, the Syndicate maintains relationships with many groups, some of them hostile to one another. The leadership of the Syndicate recognizes the potential problems with maintaining amicable relations with opposing groups, but also recognizes the potential benefits of such a loose stance, flexibility and diversity is good for business, and business is good for Derelik.
Thank you for your time, AS.

Although you carefully avoided that topic may I ask for the position of the ATS towards slavery and trade goods based on slave labour?

We at ATS have no policy on this topic. Each member of the organization must follow thier own moral guide lines. It is not our place to enforce morality or promote any one view over another, be it absolute or relative.

On behalf of the House of Marek, I would like to personally thank Captain Slavy and the Ammatar Trade Syndicate for their services within the Mandate. With the efforts made by the Syndicate, San Matari has reaped the benefits of securing ample trade goods, not only to help sustain life but also rejuvenate the lagging economy.
With the continued support and dedication from corporations, such as the Ammatar Trade Syndicate, San Matari will soon be able to know first hand what some call.... stability.

Should any of the Ammatar Trade Syndicate members decide to aid the practice of slavery then we will hold the Ammatar Trade Syndicate directly responsible.
I strongly suggest you change your amoral stance and enforce an anti-slavery policy.

Thank you Syn Marek. It is our hope that Derelik evolve beyond a mere play thing in the great game between the empires, and that Derelik grow to a better future.

It is not my place to judge any one's morals, or persuade one to believe any one world view. If the universe wishes one to see something, then the universe will make it quite clear.
That said, I am sure you could contact like minded individuals with whom you may make arrangements in Jark or Sasta.

Personally, I have heard good things of the ATS; their only interests being the pursuit of wealth.
After all, Yulith Marek is part of the corporation. I neither applaud nor condemn their amoral stance on political or religious issues.
My only concern is for the spiritual welfare of our family, and Yulith is part of our noble House. The religion of ATS -to fill their accounts with ISK- if left unchecked can pollute you. I pray that our sister remembers that she is first a servant of God, then loyal to God's Holy Empire. And in the end accountable to the noble House of Marek.

Yulith, I feel, will be fine my cousin. As far as the ATS having a "religion", I feel that is not how they view their want of ISK. With strong members such as Adunh and Ripken, I foresee the ATS heading in positive directions.
