Basicly as the title says!
why has the Panther has only 5 turrets 8 highs and 6 lows? makes very little sence to me as the Redeemer has 6 turrets 8 highs and 7 lows!
both can have 5 heavy drones so whats going on? i cant comment on the reletive balance of the widow and sin as the widow is a ECM/missile boat and the sin is gall so plain overpowerd to start with
anyway i dont play about with EFT or give a crap about charts and spreadsheets real world eperiance tells me the Panther will be underpowerd.

You'll also notice the panther has an additional mid slot, and an additional damage bonus when compared to the redeemer. OMG BOOST THE REDEEMER!

You get maybe 40-50 more DPS on a Redeemer over a Panther using broadly comparable setups at max skills. Given both such setups are putting out over 1,000 DPS, I think it's a pretty marginal thing to cavil at. I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of either.
The Redeemer has a better tank and the Panther is considerably faster and slightly more agile. The Panther has a spare high it can use for whatever (assuming cloak and jump bridge fitted), the Redeemer does not. As mentioned it has the extra mid. Moreover, the Panther is very comfortable to fit. The Redeemer has slight CPU issues. (Not massive but you have to tweak it a little more.)
Further, the Panther has a slightly larger cargo bay which matters on this class.
Put another turret on the Panther and you give it another 130-150 DPS. Which would put it at 100 DPS over the Redeemer. Given the rest of the differences, that would be over-the-top.
They are pretty well balanced but it's entirely possible to argue the Panther has the edge, just, over the Redeemer.

Yes, if there is any truth in EVE it's that lasers are sure overpowered.
