I would have more info on this and other similar battle (article).
I didn't know precisely how to make a constructive discussion but I would like to ask an opinion on mass battles, because in these battles will, the number and the experience to win and keep the territory, but I wonder how a game you can believe funny with minute of lag, where you not known if even if your ship still whole or not.
This only my opinion to large battles.
Someone know if problem remain for ever or update on server can change this situation?
Thx ^^
Edit: Why i not see my avatar?

Server upgrades will fix the problem to some extent, but client-side lag will still remain despite moving a lot of data processing server-side with Trinity. Of course, used to be 200 guys would lag out a system. Having 500 in that system would be a joke. Then they upgraded and now you can have 500 guys, but 750 is a joke. When they upgrade again... well Crumplecorn had it right with "Fleet Battles: they don't lag because the server is insufficient, they lag because people keep joining until they lag."

Edited by: Andoi87 on 28/01/2008 18:30:29 Yes, it's right, but if server were divided in more of one server, and each server controlling a group of region could reduce lag and make everything more fludid.

Edited by: Ilsendel on 28/01/2008 18:42:03 Umm, do you think that Tranquility is run by a single computer? Hell, 1 Ultima Online server was run by multiple server clusters. Trust me, the game server has clusters, with each cluster holding several area's of the game. Or something to that effect anyways. If by some amazing feat of engineering, they got Eve to run on one computer, my hat would be off to them.

It's impossible to connect so many people to same server, but i don't think it's impossible to a server to manage 1k 2k of person. Must be theoretically still be able to play even so, i asking only opinion.
