I have a mission to create something that requires a villard wheel. I have to invent it? Can any one help.

Look up the character "Villard Wheel" ingame, his bio should have the step by step.

I worked that one out last night, couldn't find anywhere with a research queue shorter than 20+ days. I just gave in and moved on.. I hope you have better luck than me.

jonage, look around a little more and make sure your looking at the Invention wait time, not research, its important for your early isk and standings to finish that mission set.
and OP.. its Manufacturing, or Industry. Crafting is something elves do in cottages.. and you don't want to disgrace yourself like that, right?

the mission should give you all the components you need to run the invention job if you followed the agents instructions.

Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

Actually, some people find teh account "Villards Wheel" to be a little more helpful

I *****ed it an just got rid of it.. which I think is going to hurt me.
I read the bio of "Villard Wheels" and plotted to the other side of the galaxy like it suggested, got there, started up the window I thought I needed to do "material research?" and picked a queue, there were now queues shorter than 20+days, and I checked everywhere. (I am at work atm, so cant really check what I did.)
I expect I was looking at the wrong thing being new to this whole UI/world. Honestly, I didn't think that mission description was very good, but once again, thats just my take on it as a beginner. As I dont have the mission set anymore, I dont think there is very much I can do about it short of starting over...
I guess I am only a day in, starting again isn't the end of the world...

It's no big deal, just move on. You won't be gimped at all by not finishing that tutorial.

Not Material Research, Invention.
The queues on ME research are horrendous but you'll find the Invention queues less punishing.

I think that the problem is that the Villard Wheel bio is written for a gallente doing the mission in his starting area, with a specific station listed.
Villard Wheels bio is more generic, giving best indications if you start in a different region.
So people reading the first bio move to the station in gallente space, instead of a generic station where they can do invention with no queue.

you may be able to find a similar tutorial agent that can give you that mission again, but i am not sure of details, or if that will actually work. but i do know there is certainly more than one starting agent for each race.

I love crafting!
Once, I took a bunch of colored paper and glue and mixed it with nanites and completely covered my thorax.. it looked like a giant colorful phallic pinata!!!
So fun.
