Arimas Talasko Shadows of Valor Atlas Alliance	Posted - 2008.01.29 04:17:00 - [1] Ok heres the story, I was runnign an escalating complex thing we had found on the last stage their was a station! SWEET anyways i warp in start tanking i see a little blue dot hit me and in the logs i was hit for 36xxx dmg by thor citidel torp hmm ok. i had about 25 em resist so i asked others they said it was a bug but i was unsure so i fit another raven out get 85% resist and 19k sheild HP surly this is enough resist. i warp back in and POP 1 torp again did 36xxx dmg again. this does not seem right.. the facters you must take in account here are 1. i had 85% em resist 2. citidel torp explosion radius is 1000m 3. my ship sig radius was 510 4. i was moving 50m/s so for all of you that are going to say it doesnt suprise me answer me why not every cap charater doesnt fly a phoenix.. and explain this to me.. NOT taking resist into account some ROUGH figues.. please re-read the last statment before answering lets round the hit down to the nearest 1k dmg 36000 and assume my sig radius is 500 for ease of math "not very good in this area" so torp should have been doing half dmg 36000 x 2 = 72000 dmg. hmm im pretty sure that no torp in the game can do that much dmg not even a doomsday does. and that figure isnt taking into account explosin velocity em resist.. remember i was going 50ms. was webbed. and 85% em resist im no math gooroo but if thoes are taken into account that torp must have hit me for over 200k dmg... is this working as intended or is it a bug? i have a feeling they will say working as intended just wanted to get more imput.. i can suck up the losses but i just want peice of mind. It's no good i've reread that last statement about 50 times and still dont understand it try to cut down on the double negatives so it makes sense.

It's just the CCP mission designers before they've had their beer (or when they've had too much). Only way to survive it is to take a T2 Minmatar ship and plate and EM harden the hell out of it. Kinda like you were about to try to tank a whole fleet of Avatars. Then set up remote reps to get it fixed up back to full armor again before the next one comes. Yes it is working as intended. Some Guristas plexes have these nasty Thor firing stations and they REALLY, REALLY hurt if you get hit. They are known to "one-shot" ppl who have gone in un-aware of the station capabilities. And yes you can tank them, just take a ship that has naturally high EM resist (Claymore), spank it up some with mods and complement it with few remote repping BS (rep between torps, the station shoot like once every 30 seconds or so). OR just stay out of the station engagement range (~100km or so) If you don't believe me, fire up EFT and check the numbers yourself.

We did a 10/10 and thought it was going really well until the Vulture went in one shot. Another shot and we nearly lost a BS. We bailed fairly rapidly. We had a change of tank and a bit of a refit and it was no problem. Its just when it takes you unawares lol /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game four years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig
