I was digging around in Agents DB at Eve Info and wondering if I do the same mission from 2 different agents with the only difference being the the security status of the system they are in, what changes would that bring to the mission rewards or difficulty?
System A - 0.5 - Level 2 Q3 Agent System B - 1.0 - Level 2 Q3 Agent

If agent is in high-sec, you are only really at risk of being scanned out and then having your wrecks salvaged/loot nicked (and if you are particularly unlucky, being suicide-ganked)
If the agent is in lowsec, you are at higher risk of some enterprising negative-sec toon removing your ship from you, unless he is friendly to you.
In nullsec, see lowsec and replace pirates with the local dominant corp/alliance, plus anyone who is roaming through there and decides to kill you --- My Mod autograph collection. Mods, please sign here! --- |

The rewards in cash, lp's and standing from an agent are based on the effective quality of the agent, which goes up from it's starting value as you succeed in missions, the level of the agent and the security rating of the system the agent is in. So best agent rewards would be from a Level 4, Base Quality 20 agent in 0.0 and worst would be a Level 1, Base Quality -20 agent in 1.0.
Other things to bear in mind are that in low sec/ no sec you are likely to to have to avoid would-be pvp-ers which reduces your income and that even in high sec you can find people salvaging wrecks you might have wanted to salvage yourself if you choose a popular system.
Finally, different agents give different missions dependent on their Division and Race. Command agents will give almost entirely kill missions while Archive agents will give almost entirely courier ones, just as examples.
Things to ponder.

Edited by: Zev''Nar on 29/01/2008 19:21:04 I guess I am trying to say is this.
I do a Kill mission for a Level II Quality 3 Security Agent (In a 1.0 System) and my standing with him is 2.0 I might get 55LP and 150k isk, +0.2 standing with him.
I do a Kill mission for a Level II Quality 3 Security Agent (In a 0.5 System) and my standing with him is 2.0 I would I still get 55LP? and 150k isk? and +0.2 standing with him?
Would the mission be harder? better drops? More things to kill? More LP, More isk? Gain Standing faster?

The mission from the 0.5 agent will give you slightly better rewards (ISK), so it's preferrable. However, 0.5 systems are typically next to 0.4 and lower systems, and if that's the case with your particular agent, he might well send you into lowsec for some missions, which is not preferrable at all for some people.

The reward difference is negligable.
Your better off training Negotiation to get better pay from agents in Hi sec.

Add 4 quality when dropping 0.1 system sec for the purpose of calculating payout.
Difficulty and rate of standing raise do not change due to sys sec. -----
