I am having the following problems which I have not been able to find a solution to.
First things first:
I am running a fresh install of the latest Classic client (although there seems to be the same problems with bot classic and premium clients). Other machines specs are:
Intel C2D E6600 (overclocked to 3ghz, but it runs fine).
Asus p5n32-e with bios 1103. Latest drivers as of today released by nVidia, although same problems occur with latest drivers from Asus.
Asus Geforce 8800 GTS 640MB with 169.25 drivers released by nVidia.
Plantronics Gamecom Pro 1 USB headset with default windows drivers (there are no other drivers :S). Although in game sound has been disabled.
Windows Vista Business 32bit with SP1 RC, v744 (build 6001). Installed SP1 to see if it fixed the problems; they occur with same frequency before and after SP1.
2GB ram on 800mhz (stock settings). The ram is 100% working and fine.
Running Dual screen setup with EVE on main screen (full screen) and desktop on second screen.
The client crashes sometimes at random times, but very often when I "Show Info" on various stuff, seemingly more frequent when showing info on solar systems. Only today for instance, the client crashed to desktop every single time I tried to show info on solar system Inoue (3 times before I gave up). It also crashes each and every time I press F11 to load the minimaps. It loads either 2 or 3 of the maps before crashing to the desktop. I receive no error message, the client only crashes.
The client disconnects at seemingly random times. However, more frequently when EVE has been minimized for a while (random amount of time). When I maximize EVE again it seems to run just fine untill I click something, anything really. Then it disconnects, pops back to windows, and then automatically reenters EVE login screen (probably intended feature). I have no problems logging on and start playing again.
Anyone experiencing something similar? It's quite frankly ruining the game experience :S Would love to see a solution to this.
