why do infra-red crystals increase EM damage and decrease thermal damage?
infra-red = heat = Thermal
they should be 100% thermal imo

now if you hit an object with a UV(Eximer) laser there is enough energy per photon to destroy molecular bonds without imparting any heat... so UV lasers should be all EM. so you can do nifty things like etch writing in hairs without burning them

I dunno. Can we cook steaks with our lasers if we back you up on this? Maybe you need to farm space cattle and then use a POS module that turns them into some sort of processed material, which then you then cook with an infra-red crystal Apoc (its new role is BBQ) to make some advanced steak which is a component of an expensive meal. I dunno. I'm just an idea guy. Steaks and an Apoc fix in the same patch is soundin' good.

well I'll throw in some OMGWTFBBQSAUCE crystals to balance everything out... otherwise you just have tastless spacebeef... what are base resists for sauce?

That is the conclusion I have come to anyway. EVE fails on so many physics tests you would think a kindergardener could do better.

Since gravity has lost its perpetual machine power souce in eve thus turing space into the sea, I can safely stats that real life physicis are fail.

I know they fail at physics... but atleast keep the descriptions coherent
for instance Scorch(FIRE! SCORCH! HOT! BURN FLESH BAD!) crystals do very little heat damage...

You're not kidding there - I tried heating a pot noodle with microwave crystals fitted but it just vapourized the whole damn thing. Those things need some kind of dial so I can vary the settings, either that or they have to rename it so I don't get confused again
