Hi all,
Apologies if this has been posted before but I can't find it....
I see that using the API interface "corp/MemberTracking" CEOs and directors can find out the current location of corp members in eve.
But, how can I (a mere corp member) find out *my own* location through the API?
I could, I suppose, start my own corp and do it that way , but that's not very sensible. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

use the ingame browser, that supports that... you can use a reload on session change to update you every time you change system (you'll have to keep the browser open while playing though)..
the API interface is cached anyhow, so it will take at least an hour before it updates making it quite unreliable to use as a locator tool.
It was like a baby, it landed on my lap and was helpless and totally defenseless. Then I shot it and bragged about it on a killboard.

On the same note, i am accessing a character's location through the browser. I might have a list of x different locations. What would be the simpliest way to determine the closest location to where you are? |

Forgive me not diving into the IGB documentation straight away, but can the browser pass an argument identifying which system you're in?

i'd very interested to know what code would be needed to refresh browser on session change, in PHP if possible.

Edited by: Beseiged on 01/02/2008 17:29:18 I've got a php class that was made a good while back that i found online. I believe it handles the session change. I'm not sure if it's free to distribute, but the name of the files is "igbclass_v2.php". From it i get System, Region, Constellation, and Station. You may find the site I put up a while ago useful. I could not tell from your post exactly what you wanted to do. It gives you your location, changing as you move, the star gates of adjacent systems and their security status, and the location of/distance to any of your corporation mates who are also visiting the site. It works only through the in-game-browser. You can access it at

Folks are using the site to coordinate trading / mining and rendezvous activities.

I am working on an ingame CMS for eve. I want to be able to provide a list of all the offices we have. Then based on currently location of the person browsing our site, I want our offices to be listed in 2 different possible ways that the user gets to pick. The first way would be closest office to them. The second way would be the closest office them that is a safe route.
