There are some things and some people you never forget...
Remember the night 103 FLA and D2 residents gathered outside the gate to help D2 take C4C back? D2 got stuck to clever BOB tactics and didn't make it. BUT, *every* one of you deserves at very least an honorable mention. Even a year later...
You are welcome to mail me or post here and say Hello! Those of us regrouped now and *still* fighting BOB all these months later would like to know how our old friends are faring.
Thank you to all who post below and avoid flames and trolls <3
Cheers to old friends! o7

It was realy one year ago ? Damn, they called us northern monkeys, NAP-landers and some other funny names, but hey, at least we were Residents who fought for "our" home and try to do something. And when i¦m right *cough* we did a lot more as D2 did (sry can¦t resist).

Clearly alliances come and go. It's the PEOPLE that are important and the ones that demonstrated the good fight then and friends lost to all the moving and remapping that we want to find well and having fun now.
Thanks

I try not to post on COAD, but that night was an epic failure.
The fleet was all ratting fitted drakes/caracals/ravens and everyone was happily resigned to their fate thinking that the MC motherships/carriers we were up against were invincible and that a DD was impossible to tank... trying to tell them otherwise was a waste of air.
They refused to use sensor damps, or fit anything remotely PVP orientated, like MWDs, even though we were facing a titan, a few MS and a small blob of carriers and little else.
We got to C4C late, after letting MC bubble the gates and put a cap blob in place with fighters out and then the FC jumped the whole fleet into it and died trying to do god knows what... certainly not trying to get as many ships past the moms and off the the pos's that we were attempting to save. This was followed by a lot of "at least we did something!" in gang chat, what a waste.
Regardless, it wouldn't have changed the outcome, D2 was a joke from beginning to end, i've heard they had around 25+ Moms and how many of those saw combat? ever? even during the days before HICs/dictor lockdowns.

My prefered words of a D¦-FC was the situation where they are outnumbered in C4C and we have a mixed 80 ppl Resident-Fleet(50-50% cruisers/BS) and want to join the fights and the FC answered: "No we didnt work with residents."
Or the situation where the POSes in P-2 comes out of reinforce...there were 15 Fade-Residents willing to repp them...sure, only in cruisers but at least we have 15 more ppl than the "mighty" D¦-fleet there - which was 0

Edited by: Mark Lucius on 31/01/2008 12:06:14 I don't think I was in the C4C fight, but I certainly was in the P-2 one.
Best FC convo I heard was between our gang and another blue gang:
Other FC> How many ships do you have? Our FC> About 25, what about you? Other FC> About 70, where do you want us?

D2 did not have 25+ Moms. I think about 6 Supercapitals is more of an accurate number. It might be true that D2 build 25 Mom, but nearly all of them were sold and the income went elsewhere. The second problem was, that many D2 members already suffered from a burnout, because the large scale PvP was in the age of Supercaps. T2 Sniper BS did not mean much when remote Doomsdaying Titans and Supercaps ruled the battlefield. The final point was that D2 had become a strategic and tactic dinosaur. Many of their ranking members wouldn't acknowledge how much an effective use of Supercaps meant. T2 BS for Fleetbattles, Dreadnaughts for POS Shooting, Carrier for Logistics and Motherships and Titans only a boring moneysinks.
I think after D2 left fountain at least some were beginning to think differently, but ultimativly the ran out of time. Their PvP Corps, were less and less willing to help during the defence of Fade and Branch. I know that Cataclysm Enterprises were on of the last of them who send Pilots, while some other corps who later became EvOke had already given up, still others used their Moms to collect killmails in lowsec.
I was proud to be a member of Cataclysm Enterprises afterwards, they are an excellent PvP force, it is only sad, that I had to leave, because most of their member Base stopped playing EVE. I somehow still hope they return to EVE so we can start to kick the butts of some CAOD-forum warriors around.

Sup D2 guys. At first we thought you where jerks, but then we found real jerks and it turns out D2 was pretty chilled
Its a shame D2 didn't make it in the end, but what rose out the ashes has been handing BOB its own arse. Good stuff. -----------

Edited by: Sinder Ohm on 31/01/2008 20:08:00 I was in 1 of the last corps to leave D2 and later on some of us formed mostly harmless.
My memories from the fight for C4C/P2:
I started flying interdictor back then and it was a great crash course in dictor piloting including bubbled my own gang (sir mumm was fc) and I swaer I havent never heard a fc use so many swear words in a sentance before
Tom Mcash (I think it was him) doomsdaying the fleet through the pos shield
A Bob Titan that doomsdayed through the wrong cyno (back when it was allowed) and killing the wrong gang.
Sniper Pirate (a corp mate) getting kicked off the computer by his family and subsequently losing a carrier to the almighty mc fighter bob (sorry sniper :P)
losing 2 dictors and 1 pod to Seleens smartbombing NYX
The awsome amazing 3 hour fight we had for P2 thanks MC
good memories all around
edit: I miss Emily she was rather plump at the waist but sexy in her own way.
and to the above goon poster I think many of the corps learned from the mistakes we made in D2 and we have come back stronger.

D2 ..phew... in the end it was very interesting that the industrial corp fought longer for their home then the "pvp" corps..except ce.
I remember when we decided to leave branch and asked xt. They told us that we were with them some of the last corps that have their assets in branch ^^, all others had fled.
And now i see that our old "pvp" corps are in territorial wars again, where they fled from in D¦ before.

<--- Fade native and current resident.
Glad we missed that disaster...I think we were still working on heading back north from the Southern front at this point. Then about a week later IRON completely acquiesced in Deklein with no fight whatsoever. At this point our little corp wondered why the freak we were calling these people friends, and went our own way.
Clearly we don't learn because here we are, back in the north \o/

i remember p-2. I was roaming pureblind solo in my thorax and jumped into p-2. Had no idea there was a huge fight going on lol. I convo's my boy needa in Core and got in gang. Warped to the fight, stared at empty space. suddenly my ship is blown up and i am in a station. I love fleet fights...... no not really

to see the whole northern nap destroyed was probably the best ever. eve has been one big adventure since while i drifted south, west and east.
some how you still see a lot of the old faces in gangs and fleets and the objective has not changed :)
getting kicked in the balls back then was the needed wake up call.
and yea.. a lot of the FC'ing and tactics were pure ****e :D
