Edited by: Saerdna16ID on 31/01/2008 10:25:39 At the moment I got a Vexor and I am about to get into level 3 missions. With my Vexor I had no problems on level 2 missions, I tried a level 3 which i completed but its too farking hard so I bougth a Myrmidon. P.S. I do like passive armor tanking.
So here comes the hard part to set it up.
This is what I think please any input will be great. Aiming for level 3 missions.
High 5x 250mm prototype i gauss gun drone link augmentor
Med 3 x Cap Recharger 2 y-s8 hydrocarbon 1 afterburners ???? - Maybe anoother Cap Recharger 2 or Cap Booster or web???
LOW DC2 or energized adaptive nano membrane MAR 2 2 X specific RAT hardeners 1600mm reinforced rolled tungsten plates
Drones: hammerhead 1 for smal frigs and cruisers ogre 1 for BC and BS
Any advice or recomendations will be appreciate it

Sounds pretty solid... go with four cap rechargers in the mids, but ditch the plate even if you like it.
The more difficult missions get, the more they turn into a marathon tanking test. A slightly higher HP buffer won't help you get through that, but a EANM or a third rat specific hardener (like fitting 2x kinetic 1x therm against guristas) will.

Here's the myrm setup that got me through many a lv. 3 mission while I was working on my Gallente Navy standings...
(from memory so some names might be a bit off)
Highs: 4x 250mm 'Scout' I Accelerator Cannons w/ Tungsten Charge M and Antimatter Charge M Medium 'Arup' I Remote Bulwark Reconstructor Drone Link Augmentor
Mediums: Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners Medium Cap Battery II 3x Cap Recharger II
LOWS: DC II MAR II Gallente Navy EANM (if you can't use faction or T2 go with a T2 Adaptive Nano Plate though) Radioisotope Thermal/Kinetic/Explosive Hardeners
Rigs: CCC 2x Auxilary Nano Pump I
Drones: 10x Hammerhead II 10x Hobgoblin II
Does decent gun DPS at long range with Tungsten M and medium to short-ish with Antimatter M. Majority of the damage comes from the drones, a lot of missions I'd just turn my tank on, get aggro, launch the drones, and go AFK for a while if I didn't feel like actually fighting the rats. Omni tank works well enough and doesn't require that you fiddle with it between missions.

Looks good. For your last mid-slot go with another Cap Recharger. If you can permanently run one of the reppers, use the second one for one or two cycles at a time to give your armour a boost when it needs it.
Get Tech II medium drones as soon as you can, they don't take long to train for and are well worth it. Heavy drones may kill battlecruisers and cruisers quick but they're damned slow, I found that Tech II mediums were a lot better because even though they take longer to kill a target, they spend less time traveling between them. Also consider keeping several types of drones at your mission station. Hammerheads are fine against Serpentis and Mercenaries, but against Angels you'll want Valkyrie and Warrior explosive-dealing drones. Swap them out depending on who your facing.
Be careful using your railguns. They can easily use more cap than you think and tip you over your optimal recharge point. I can permanently run a LAR II on my Dominix, but as soon as I turn the railguns on my cap runs out in about 5 minutes. You might consider using only drones to kill all the frigates, destroyers and cruisers, then using your railguns as extra damage to help your drones kill any remaining battlecruisers. The other option and one I quite enjoyed was to use projectile weapons. The Myrmidon doesn't have a bonus to any particular weapon type so you can easily fit a full rack of 650mm artillery cannons on it. No cap usage and variable damage types! Swap out for ammo types depending on the rats, or just use Depleted Uranium all the time if you're lazy.

i wud remove the plate and add some more reists, dual rep tanks work best when u have high resists adn not huge amounts of armor, secondly id invest in some auxilarily nano pump rigs and some ccc's
and definately use a dmge control that 1 mod has saved my ass so many times

Ok here guys how my set-up worked and I can have everything on and I will still gain capacitor. I tried to fit a second MAR 2 but do not have enough capacitor to fit it unfortunately.
Not sure what needs to be trained to so I can fit the second one but will have to play with it. Plus I am training heavy drones atm so once I get that done i will add some ogres.

You don't need these for missions. In a mission when you're facing dozens of ships, jamming one with ECM drones is completely pointless. Myrmidon has what, 150m3 drone space now? Personally I'd use that for:
5x Hammerhead II 5x Valkyrie II 5x Hobgoblin II 5x Warrior II
Save the ECM drones for PvP.

Looks okay, but dont mix and match ammo, just use all antimatter for up close , or all iridium etc etc.
