There are about 7700 people on right now, and there's about 100 in both Yulai and Pator. I've been waiting 20 minutes to move through these systems with an 1700kb broadband connection. This sort of lag has become endemic during peak with the new playerbase expansion.
Can we please get an autorouting option that tries to avoid the highway systems? I'm sure I could have reached Brundakur by now even going through two dozen systems.
And let it be said that if EVE performs this poorly with 7700 simultaneous players, I shudder to think how it will perform at 10k+. - - - -
I have measured and described the stars, their great and countless multitude. What man has seen their revolutions and entrances? Not even the angels see their number, yet I have recorded all their names.

We won't talk about how many cruisers I lost this weekend, nor how many nice railguns, or T2 enhancers. We're going to skip right over that. We're going to talk about my new Raven. It is like flying a small city, and the city's only export is missiles.

But I am not sure this is affecting everyone.. I just passed through Yulai and there was very little lag whatsoever - as always dropping out of warp there is a second or two pause as it loads ships close by. Was moving fast with an executioner too and was smooth as silk.
Information:
Location: London,UK - DSL 512kbps Graphics Card/RAM: Geforce 4 Ti4400 128 MB/ RAM: 1 Gig ram CPU: Athlon XP2600+ Game resolution: 1280x1024, all graphics settings max.
All of the above is information that is relevant of course. Actually Ive been popping up and down this route quite a few times - was checking trading prices between the systems and hell I didn't even know there were so many people on - no indication in game in terms of lag thats for sure. -----

A place where Concord no longer polices or protects, 'human nature' thrives in all its distilled destructive self-serving glory. Welcome to hell ladies and gentlemen, welcome to what it really is to be human.'

Really bad lag for me up in northern 0.0. 30 seconds for smart bombs to actually start working, 30 seconds for them to turn off.

I've gone back and forth through Yulai and Luminaire all day and not gotten a drop of lag whatsoever.

The lag is horrendous around the highways, I've been shooting at peeps all night and my missiles keep doing the funky chicken around space, annoying when I'm trying to keep things reloaded and firing the servers just can't handle things atm.
It's not my connection btw, I've been in fights in more secluded systems with more action going on and never had any problems whatsoever.

I've bookmarked the gates on the highway route that I regularly use. It saves a lot of time when its laggy.

I'm on the highway a lot and I never lag, even in peak times. I'm way across the pond in Texas too.

I would like an "Aviod the system" option, since you know certain systems are death traps ------------------------------------------------ Do not let the world change you. Change the world

I think the solution to this problem would be to remove the highways.

This wasnt a pure highway system. Got dropped 3 times today along with other corp mates. Node drop, not CTD.

naa....i like the idea in the latest CSM turn the highways into toll gates
makes infinitely more sense to charge for a fast route like that than removing them __________________________________________

But then you just get a que at the gates in between... So the highways will be clear and you will not be able to move in any system that links them together.
Hope there are no 0.0 systems in between, gank heaven for pirates.
KEEP THE HIGWAYS, just make them able to handle the load.
BTW I like the idea of the 'Avoid' feature, would make it easier to avoid those 'Problem' systems I keep getting messages about
